In the dark depths of the forest, Khalida does her work. Boiling scrappy heaps to mystery Potions for her use. A grinning cauldron bubbles by, Sloshing sickly green. Bags of herbs and old small bones Crowd her wooden shelves. And when she looks at you, Peering from underneath her hat, Her eyes sparkle and gleam- Clever as a cat’s. Poem by - macaroni33 |

Re-welcome the old bones, dust off your hat, hang the tangled tapestry of feathers once more. Light the fire, dim the sky, return to your abandoned studies. Worn iron and rust, beetles’ wings and ivory, shelves stocked with ingredients, bookshelves groaning. Well you know your work, quick you weave your craft. Venom and asphodel, cloves and black tea.
