For centuries, those grounds were known as a place of healing, a place where none fought, and where those who were harmed would heal. It was safe… warm… home… ….home… The powers of said place were great- no sickness couldn’t be cured, no bone would remain broken. No limb would remain lost. It was…. Nice…. Centuries of complicated healing rituals had left their traces, and from it a blessing was born- one that would not pick sides, would not care about age, gender or flight- all that needed it would be aided. Its many eyes saw more than just one’s appearance- it saw within their bodies, how they functioned and what would ultimately cause a body to become a corpse. ….Some things are inevitable… but…. ….why did they have to take him for granted…? ….why did they have to claim him as theirs…? ….why…?

For centuries all went well, until some began to seek the right to own those blessed grounds- keep its powers to themselves and prevent others from reaching it. They succeeded. From that point onwards, only their warriors, knights and gladiators entered, and only they were cured.

They grew arrogant, proud…. Greedy…

And the fighting never stopped.
