He could not breathe, he felt his very core shivering with fear. He knew it was coming, he could sense the darkness reaching out to take him into it's cruel, cold grasp. Curling into a ball, he tucked his head close to his chest and cried out as the darkness came closer and closer, swallowing him entirely. He knew the darkness would leave, it always did, but that didn't make the experience any less frightening. He hoped maybe one day it would stop, this cruel cycle of torment and suffering, but it never did. He'd have to wait for the darkness to get bored of torturing him before he'd move again, but that usually took hours. His body shook viciously, though his eyes were shut he knew that all there was to see was pitch black should he open them. Normally, he would not dare to open his eyes when the darkness surrounded him, but this time he did, for he heard footsteps.‹━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━« A bright, shining coatl stood before him, adorned in silks and gold, he thought the dragon might have even been some sort of god. "Star child, why do you fear the dark?" He asked, lifting the small wildclaw to his feet. "Look up, do you see those? All those shining stars? Do not fear the dark, but embrace it, otherwise we might not be able to see those beautiful stars every night." The coatl was right, bright, shining lights expanded for what seemed like forever above them. He was amazed, is that why the dark tormented him? Because he did not adore the stars it made visible? "Hm, you look much like a sky full of stars, even your eyes are full of stars. We shall call you Cosmos. Come now." The coatl said to him, but he did not respond, for he continued to stare at those beautiful, shining stars until he could see them no more. Written by 1Sash1 |
