Aoi is as simple as the length of her name. She never asks much from anyone and usually hangs off on her own practicing on her lute, saving her energy from when she needs to look hyper and energetic during her performance in the circus. She provides background music during the show as well as performing on stage with a few other musicians, often accompanied by the dancers who have to avoid Vrinde's powerful toss of flowers. When her part of the show is over, she needs to kick back and sleep for the rest of the day to recharge.

She first learned how to play the lute from her grandfather, who passed away when Aoi was still a hatchling. She kept her grandfather's lute and wanted to carry on the tradition of mastering the instrument and playing it for other dragons to enjoy. The songs her grandfather first taught her are slow-paced, but she likes to try to incorporate them into her performing songs to honor him. Aoi will often try to place breaks within the song where she can play an unaltered version of what she was taught, but she doesn't do it every performance to prevent it from getting stale. Although the Spiral likes being off on her own to practice, she does often work with Eotua, who uses her chimes to help give Aoi's songs more backbone. Together, they like to practice certain melodies and finetune their songs before it's their time to perform. The two don't spend much time together outside of practicing their music, and despite Aoi's suspicion of Eotua wanting to hang out with Aoi more, she never acts out on it and just leaves the Pearlcatcher be. |

| In terms of feelings, Aoi doesn't know what she feels. She's curious about a growing attraction to Breezy, the circus' ticketmaster and worker bee, but she can't say for certain whether it's a romantic attraction or not. The most Aoi ever cared about was her lute, so it's a strange feeling trying to picture a dragon in place of her precious instrument. Due to this uncertainty, she doesn't act out on this feeling either and has barely interacted with Breezy in fear of what her feelings might become, or the possible disappointment of being wrong about those feelings. |
