"Don't we all deserve a little liberation from authority?"
Sometimes the laws of the world are just too cruel. Iio understood this, and Iio had dedicated his life to fighting it. Every dragon deserves to make their own choices in the world, after all, and what good are rules when they sway dragons to pick sides and work around restrictions?
So Iio joined a small band of anarchists, sabotaging large flight operations, murdering law enforcers, and helping small clans with illegal activities. Unfortunately, it really wasn’t long until the the Fortress of Ends caught wind- literally- of their operations. They didn’t last long after that.
Iio was chained up to waste away in the depth of the Fortress, where he spent years seeking escapism in the fabrications of his own mind. Every little return to reality just made him angrier, however, and he finally snapped and attacked his guard when being fed one day. Iio was sentenced to death after that- to freeze in one of the howling blizzards the Icewarden conjures all the time.
The nocturne continued his rebellion, looking for escapism even as he ebbed away...
...and something answered.
