Caustic Sauce is a peculiarity to the researchers of Clan Quills. His father left the clan in search of a new home and a place to stake his own and settled in the Viridian Labyrinth and met the love of his life. It didn't take long before the pair developed some strange abilities to better survive in the Gladekeeper's land, such as suction-like pads allowing them to easily climb up the huge trees and poisonous secretions to keep rival clans and beast clans alike at bay. As their progeny spread they are coming to be known as Frogsneaks for the adaptations that mimic the little amphibians.

Caustic himself is quite confident in his abilities and was eager to get out from under his parent's feet, however, being so young still, he was sent to his grandparent's clan instead of out on a great adventure. He spends most of his time with the other young dragons, like Pell and Karrabast, getting up to mischief and generally causing a ruckus. His silver tongue has gotten the trio out of more than a few incidents with the researchers and hunters of Clan Quills, somehow he always seems to get off with a warning and nothing more. If this is a magical ability, no one is quite certain, but he does have a way with words.
