Biography

DRf59lD.jpg

Zenith was born from the formation of a universe far from sornieth, a nebula of colours and radiation that communicated and thought through various humming frequencies. He travelled for untold amounts of time through the emptiness, visiting planets and galaxies, devouring stars and traversing black holes. He had godlike powers - the destruction of a planet was never more than a thought away. He often found new realities through collapsing matter, and would occasionally envelop something beautiful to become a part of himself.

He came to sornieth on a stormy day. Solar flares ravaged the cosmos, and though he embraced the energy they gave him, he saw a planet also in their wake and his curiosity was piqued. He descended to the little planet like a meteor from space, flaming and changing as he fell, shapeless and shifting. When he hit the ground it was no longer in the form of a nebula of colours and radiation but instead a solid being.
He unfurled his wings with ease, shaking off sparks and blowing away smoke with a flick of his fingers. At first, gravity was a strange and uncomfortable burden, but soon he learned how to use his powers to lift himself up again, as weightless as he was in the void of his birthplace. In this land there was darkness, but unlike his home, it had sentience - he wondered if this being whose power eclipsed even his own was also from the deep cold of the universes beyond, or if they had always been here. Either way, he avoided them as he travelled the empty land he had come to.
Over centuries, he learned how to growl and hiss, how to shriek and scream. His language was one of magic and movement, and when any beast came near he would unfurl his wings and strike them with the magic within him. Many things left in a strange state - glowing, growing things they were never born with, the very base of what stitched them together permanently altered. Despite missing his home he stayed on the planet for reasons even he was unsure of.

After many, many days, watching seasons blend into seasons too many times to count, he began to see others similar to him. In the past there had been the snarling ones, those who defended their homes with tooth and claw and spoke things he could not understand. There had always been the revered ones as well, but he stayed away from them - they warred and climbed for dominance, powerful, enough to make the bones of the planet tremble. He did not wish to test his strength against them. However, these new beasts were sentient - forming groups, creating things, fighting, but also understanding each other.
Though he had come here on a whim and time meant nothing to him, he decided he had spent long enough observing from the shadows. In his form he slipped in amongst their ranks, taking time to learn their languages and customs. He travelled for a long time, shifting his colours and patterns to camouflage as needed. He learned many sought purpose in their lifetimes, and he began to wonder - what was his?

One day, he arrived at the mystic plateau with a band of traders. He was already missing the arcane lands they had just left - the worship of the stars amused him, but he feared that the eyes of the revered one who governed those lands would soon rest on him. The traders had mentioned a festival, and he always enjoyed watching these creatures frolic - they had a different sort of sentience than the stars and beings he had met in the past.
When the music started, the crowd hushed for a moment. A dancer in bright silks came out and her movements, so serpentine and precise, impressed even him. When the serthis arrived as well and the two worked in tandem, he felt himself strangely enraptured. They had become blind to all around them, and he felt for the first time a stir in his chest. After all these years, what was it that was causing him to... feel?
He stayed after the ceremony, staying to the sidelines to mull over what had happened to him. he touched a claw to his chest, tapping where his heart must have been. What a strange land he was visiting. Had he somehow tapped into their emotions? With all his powers, he still could not comprehend how to understand others. He was a god, after all - above them all. wasn't he?
When the invitation was offered for him to stay, he accepted. For once, he felt some force driving him to do something. He wanted to understand, not just live based on whims. And as he glanced up at the full moon above, he felt a warmth spread through his cold body. What a strange place he had come to.
