Biography

The Prophet
Bidhirit’s early years were filled with overwhelming visions and unexplained happenings. Her birth lair chased her away, believing her ill and a sign of bad luck, and she wandered the wastes as a loner, afraid to come too close to any clan lest they discover her origins. The whisperings and visions grew harder to ignore as she grew older. The signs and omens became clearer as she learned to interpret what guidance she'd been shown until she finally realized her purpose as a prophet of the Plaguebringer.
After visiting the Wyrmwound and receiving knowledge directly from the Plaguebringer herself, the Prophet called out through dreams to any who might hear her. She drew to her a Mirror known as the Knight, who pledged his service and eternal loyalty to her and the Plaguebringer. The two formed a union and began to build a clan in the strange, twisting ruins the Plaguebringer's signs had led them to in order to serve her with those who had also followed the Prophet's dream or came upon the settlement by coincidence.

Haven's origins tie directly to Bidhirit’s journey, and the city expanded from those first few dwellings called up from the land. The village grew to a town as time passed, eventually becoming a city in its own right. None of the city's founders know exactly why or how Haven took on a life of its own, only that the streets became darker, more twisted, and more alive as the number of dragons both living in and passing through the city increased. Haven's sprawl is both literal and visceral. Districts grow, shift, appear, and disappear with few discernible patterns, leaving only those most used to navigating the city safe in its streets. Haven’s walls may be protection for some, but for others, they signify a prison.

The most permanent areas of the city are a waypoint of sorts for some dragons. Some come seeking wisdom from the Prophet, training from the Knight, a booming trade market, or a mostly safe night within the city's walls. The permanent residents all play a part in Haven's function, from running various businesses to keeping the city safe from outside threats. The dragons you may see in the lair and den are only a sampling of Haven's many permanent and impermanent residents.

Much of Haven's culture relates to the citizens' (and the city's) relationship with the Plaguebringer. Haven's permanent residents, regardless of birth flight, are extremely devoted to the Plaguebringer to the point of it seeming fanatical from an outside standpoint. This comes from the documented history of Haven's earliest residents raising many of their hatchlings for the honor of exaltation. Even now, training their young for the Plaguebringer's service is believed to be in part responsible for Haven's prosperity and relative safety. Despite this, dragons who do not feel this same allegiance are free to come and go as they please. It’s said by some that the Plaguebringer's will shifts the ground that Haven is built on, deciding who remains within its streets and who finds their way out.
Relationships

Husband
The Knight, devoted to his Prophet. Bidhirit cares deeply for him and would be shattered if anything happened to separate them. Remir is the closest dragon she has and they are oftentimes inseparable unless city business calls him away. Had it not been for his destiny to stand at her side, she may have died among the ruins that became Haven, and thus their bond is sealed and eternal.

Haven’s rough location, generally somewhere between the Wyrmwound and the Seedscar, though tales have been told of travelers coming to the city from elsewhere in the Abiding Boneyard…at least, they think so.
