xxxTheme song: How far I'll go (minor key)
Battle theme: none yet
They were proof of the ocean's grim powers. Calm one moment, destructive the next. Thousands met their demise in the deep dark abyss of the sea, and many more speak of the ocean's terrifying rage.
Words have power, stories can work like a spell and rumors can reach much further than one would expect.
With enough of them, even an abstract idea can be given a near-physical shape.
The first memory was the very depths of the ocean, where not even the most resilient dared to come. None could reach them- but their rage reached others. The only thing that could match their anger is their body count.
But one day, it .... changed.
They were ancient- ancient like the deities- ancient like the world itself, but they weren't the oldest beings around.
There were entities like them- ancient, powerful, proud.
...hidden, mysterious, ever-changing.
An ancient being challenged the ocean's rage, daring them to best him in combat.
Thousands died in the battle, yet the one who challenged the force of nature refused to fall, tricking, teasing and taunting. The entity, blinded by rage, decided to rise up from the depts and face the challenger head-on.
Only to collapse right away.
Before the aquatic entity could recover from their fatal mistake, the challenger had put a curse on them, not allowing the ocean's rage to return to the source of their power until they found something beyond their anger.
Centuries passed, and though the ocean was calmer, occasionally the entity managed to whip up a storm, though it was nothing like what they had once been able to do. They had found more than just anger- hatred, disgust, frustration...
nothing seemed to be good enough to lift the curse though.
That is...until an old challenger returned with some.... 'advice'
