" All these dragons rely on me... and I cannot let them down" Smart | Naïve | Caring Lore |
The Sunshine-Squad (Art by Rillia) invisibleinvisibleinvisible |
Alaysa turned her head to look back towards the caves dug into the ever-lasting ice. The aurora illuminating the night sky made the snow glister. Everyone else was still sleeping, curled up together, protecting each other from cold and wind. For all her life, Alaysa had been a part of this family. Tomorrow, they wouldn’t even remember her.
Personality
|
Alaysa is a gentle and caring, but also a little naïve dragon. She is an idealist, who’d love to see the world at peace, and who can not comprehend violence, greed, and selfishness. While she is rather reliable and hard-working, she is lacking situational awareness. Derpyness is a close friend of hers and it is not rarely that she finds herself forgetting or missing something. She is helpful and tries to avoid conflict, mostly through finding a compromise. As she has spent most of her life in the ice-cold tundra, she is not very used to living together with dragons of other species. Often, she is confused by the others’ behavior or thinking. But she is an adaptable dragon and her striving for peaceful coexistence quickly made her one of the lair’s leaders… a role she isn’t too fond of due to her general insecurity. |
Background
Alaysa grew up in in the Snowsquall Tundra as part of a medium sized Tundra lair. Soon, she felt she was different from her fellow dragons. They forgot what she remembered, were carefree where she worried, and disregarded what lay heavily on her mind. Unable to share her thoughts with even her closest friends and family, Alaysa felt out of place. Scared of loneliness, she tried to fit herself in at any cost. However, her efforts had the opposite effect of what she had hoped for: Instead of happiness, Alaysa found frustration and discontent. One night, Alaysa left her lair, convinced no one would remember or miss her. For a while, she wandered through the Southern Icefield until one day, she heard of the Arcanist and his observatory not too far off. Immediately, Alaysa was intrigued by this deity and his thirst for knowledge. While one part of her was scared of the unknown, the rest of her was fascinated by it. She continued her path all the way to Focal Point, where she hoped to find a new home. However, upon arriving at her goal, she encountered the Coatl Claudius and his Guardian warriors. They chased her away due to the black color of her fur. With nowhere else to go, Alaysa settled down in a cave close to Starwood Strand, and soon, many other dragons joined her. |
Relationships
Shirogane is Alaysa's beloved partner and mate. Together, they lead the Rose Spar. Shirogane also was the first dragon to join Alaysa in her solitude. Alaysa admires his logical thinking and his cleverness. His smart ideas never fail to amaze her. Whenever she is in need of reassurance or support, she knows she can turn to Shirogane, but she also knows he will tell her when he thinks she goes astray. This certainty she values above anything else. |
Upon first meeting Summer, Alaysa was skeptical. Her experiences with other Tundras had left her biased. However, she did her best to give Summer a chance. And even though Summer can be as forgetful as others of her species, she takes Alaysa's worries and concerns very seriously and always offers an open ear and good advice. In exchange, Summer also inspires Alaysa often with her enthusiasm. |
Jormund fascinates Alaysa. She cannot help but be curious about his abilities and while she’d like to question him about everything, she often holds herself back. She understands the burden he’s carrying and tries to help wherever she can. She sees the kind heart below Jormund’s insecurities and is more than willing to show him kindness herself to make him feel home and comfortable. |
Pearlfeather is one of the two advisors in the lair. Alaysa values his opinion highly, even though she doesn't always understand what he is going for. Sometimes she wished he'd express himself more clearly, but she'd never dare to tell him that directly. Instead, she tries to make sense of his mystical remarks. |
When Auriga started to participate in clan discussions on the side of Pearlfeather, Alaysa first was confused and even irritated by her provocations. By now Alaysa understands the value of Auriga's comments... that doesn't mean she always likes them. But she accepts Auriga as a clever and helpful advisor, who often provides a point worth looking at. |
