Some days you get the bear, and some days the bear gets you. Maybe if we felt any human loss as keenly as we feel one of those close to us, human history would be far less bloody. Commander William Riker of the Starship Enterprise. Sorry, Data.

History

Yesterday I did not know how to eat gagh. Worf, It's better than music. It's jazz. Mr. Worf, you sound like a man who's asking his friend if he can start dating his sister. Talk about going nowhere fast. About four years. I got tired of hearing how young I looked. Mr. Worf, you do remember how to fire phasers? Mr. Crusher, ready a collision course with the Borg ship. Fear is the true enemy, the only enemy. Well, that's certainly good to know. You're going to be an interesting companion, Mr. Data. Maybe if we felt any human loss as keenly as we feel one of those close to us, human history would be far less bloody. Is it my imagination, or have tempers become a little frayed on the ship lately? Your shields were failing, sir. They were just sucked into space. I recommend you don't fire until you're within 40,000 kilometers. I think you've let your personal feelings cloud your judgement.

Personality
We could cause a diplomatic crisis. Take the ship into the Neutral Zone About four years. I got tired of hearing how young I looked. I'd like to think that I haven't changed those things, sir. Maybe we better talk out here; the observation lounge has turned into a swamp. This is not about revenge. This is about justice. Computer, belay that order. The look in your eyes, I recognize it. You used to have it for me. The Federation's gone; the Borg is everywhere!Fate. It protects fools, little children, and ships named "Enterprise." Yes, absolutely, I do indeed concur, wholeheartedly!

______ Children of the field medic and mortician often find themselves fascinated with cadavers and corpses. Some do eventually leave the nest to become healers (albeit unsettling ones with a less-than-ideal bedside manner) though a precious few reject their parents’ teachings entirely, instead setting out to forge their own path; others choose to put their knowledge to other uses and only time will tell whether they will use it for good.

Regardless, all depart with at least this one lesson in their heads: only the strong are spared by the Plague.

______ ━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━ ______
______ Never having quite taken to her parents' teachings, young Casus soon finds that her interest in pestilence and diseases quickly morphs into a desire to quite literally spread the Plague.

When you're raised among raiders, you learn quickly that showing weakness is a death wish, so what better way to strengthen others than to build up their immunities? Casus may not be able to fight even remotely well, but she knows that she can train her body to withstand the onslaught of the plague and, even better, she can help others do so, too.

Her first few forays into the endeavour ended up with a few devastated villages and clans, but she quickly learned to keep only the weaker strains in the petri dish that is her stomach-- it is both convenient and fortunate, perhaps, that the Plague magic that flows in her veins allows for this sort of thing-- and target stronger dragons for infection.

In this line of work, you don't make many friends. Casus has the pleasure of having none at all, but this doesn't bother her one bit. By the grin on her face and the spark in her eyes, you wouldn't be able to tell that this young spiral is one of the Plaguebringer's most zealous followers.
