Biography
IGNORE HER BIO I WILL UPDATE IT EVENTUALLY OKAY
The packs of Mirrors that race across the hills and valleys of Sornieth are relentless and ravenous, and Henare was one among many. Meat alone, however, was never enough to satisfy her appetite; she wanted more. She had to be the fastest runner, the best hunter, the fiercest warrior, and she pushed her body to the limit and beyond to achieve it. She was in no way exceptional, except for that burning hunger that drove her ever forward. It was perhaps inevitable that it would lead to her downfall.
She foolishly picked a fight with an opponent far stronger than her, refusing to back down despite little hope of winning. After the quick, brutal battle, the pack continued on, leaving the gravely wounded Henare behind to die. But she had no intention of dying, alone and forgotten, on a nameless hillside somewhere on the Windswept Plateau. Slowly, agonizingly, she dragged herself along, directionless and half blind but unwilling to surrender.
Perhaps it was the trail of blood she left in her wake like a crimson arrow pointing to her, or perhaps it was simply luck, but a dragon did find her - a young Guardian named Carcin, who carried her back to the clan where he was staying. They cared for her wounds and helped her to recover, even knowing that like all Mirrors she would soon leave to return to the endless hunt. But she didn't.
She had never seen a clan properly before; from a distance, they seemed foolish and weak, wrapped up in useless treasures and building elaborate homes in which to stagnate. But in the time she stayed there, she began to understand the strength that a clan could provide. The clan was ancient, its lair sprawling, its warriors numerous, and it possessed a power - not only in fighters, but in resources and knowledge - that no Mirror pack could ever dream of.
It took incredible strength to be that weak.
Most impressive of all was the clan's matriarch - an ancient Guardian, bigger than any dragon Henare had ever seen. Countless years had faded her fins to almost gray, but her eyes burned with a fierce fire born of the utter certainty she had in her own power. In her, Henare saw the answer she had been seeking her whole life without realizing it; it was this power that she had always strived for. Covered in bandages, surrounded by strangeness, and trying not to limp, Henare resolved that she too would one day rule a clan like this one. She too would possess the quiet, indomitable power of the ancient matriarch.
Her clan began with only Carcin, who had claimed her as his charge, and a lost scholar named Saerilin they found along the way. But, Henare was certain, it would soon grow. Vast and powerful, with the greatest dragons of Sornieth.
And it would all be hers.
Note: statistically speaking, Henare is larger but thinner than the average Mirror (also more fond of jewelry).
