Her heart heavy, Summer fastened her pouch on her shoulder. The forest around her looked peaceful, but an aura of sadness filled the woods. The birds were silent, the leaves of the trees only rustling slightly in the tender breeze. The same breeze that ruffled her fur, stroking her almost regretfully. Summer closed her eyes and inhaled the well-known scent of the mossy ground and the bark around her. A scent of home. A part of her wanted to stay, but she knew that even though leaving was hard, not leaving would be harder. “Goodbye”, Summer whispered, both to the woods and to the scorched tree between whose roots she had lived for the last years, “I will never forget you.”

Personality

Aspen Gall Dryad
Sage Shell
Verdant Shell

Summer loves nature more than anything. There is not a single day on which she doesn’t leave the caves to take a stroll through the woods. Most often, she is alone when doing so, but occasionally, other dragons join in. Summer is well-liked for her good mood and her enthusiasm, and other dragons often turn to her for some positivity and kind words.

While Summer is rather bad with names and often forgets where she put things, she will always remember other dragon’s sorrows, secrets, and worries. Even after weeks, she will still remember what they told her and inquire about their well-being.

Summer loves flowers and bouquets. Her private cave is filled with plants of all kind, and she enjoys creating jewelry from flowers. Together with Estellaria, she founded the Sunshine Squad, which aims to bring joy and happiness to other dragons in the lair.

Background

Summer grew up in a nature lair living on the edge of a giant forest. Even as a hatchling, she enjoyed wandering through the trees, watching birds, and sniffing flowers. The forest was her second home and she moved through it more confidently than most adult dragons.

It was when Summer had just grown up into an adolescent that she got in contact with the magic of the woods. She was strolling between the trees, enjoying the mossy smell and the calmness surrounding her, when suddenly, a low voice caught her attention. A song filled the air, sung by the voice of a female, a voice clearer and brighter than anything Summer has ever heard before. The young dragon followed the singing and finally came across a clearing. In the middle of the clearing, a small tree stood, very young and still somewhat fragile. On the roots of said tree sat a dryad, singing lowly, tending the flowers covering the clearing.

Summer sat still and watched her, bewitched by her voice. Never before had she met one of the beastclans. She knew she had to be careful around them, but at the same time, she was fascinated. While Summer was watching silently, the dryad suddenly raised her gaze, their eyes meeting. Summer saw the curiosity in her eyes. Instead of running, the young dragon approached the dryad, carefully avoiding stepping on any of the carefully planted flowers. Even though they did not speak the same language, they shared a deep understanding.

Soon after this encounter, Summer left her clan and moved into the woods. The dryad, Lamia, let her live by the roots of her tree, which grew bigger and stronger over the years. So did the friendship between the dragon and the dryad, which eventually sprouted into love. Lamia taught Summer the secrets of nature and its magic, while Summer told Lamia stories about the dragons and the world outside. With patience and kindness, Summer managed to gain the trust of the forest child, who showed her even more wonders of nature than she would ever have discovered on her own.

It was after a period with no rain that a great fire brought a violent end to their peaceful life. Lamia could not escape the hungry flames as she was tightly connected to her tree. Summer tried to rescue her, but it was futile. Lamia died and Summer was gravely wounded by the flames. It was only thanks to luckthat she survived that fateful day.

Summer stayed for one more year. She used the magic Lamia had showed her to regrow the forest into a peaceful and healthy state. Lamia’s tree however, she couldn’t rescue. Her love was gone, forever.

Summer left the forest after her deed was done, searching for a new place to stay. Her journey lead her through all of Sornieth, until one day, she arrived at Focal Point. One of Claudius’ followers saw and attacked her, but thanks to her magic, Summer was able to fight him off. She fled and stumbled across Estellaria, who guided her to the Rose Spar. Intrigued by Summer’s abilities as druid, the curious Spiral begged Summer to stay. That she did.

Estellaria

From the moment Summer met Estellaria, the bubbly Spiral had a place in her heart. Summer adores her enthusiasm and idealism, even though she knows the world sometimes is not as colorful and peaceful as Estellaria likes to see it. Thus, Summer quickly made it her duty to protect her friend from any harmful experiences.

Friend

Alaysa

Upon meeting Alaysa, Summer noticed instantly that the other Tundra felt uneasy in her presence. The conclusion was as clear as simple: With lots of patience and kind words, Summer worked on relaxing Alaysa's anxiety and suspicion. Eventually, the two of them became friends. Summer enjoys seeing the shy and somewhat frightened Alaysa open up in her presence and does everything to support her. Often, she will take her along for a walk along Starwood Strand.

Fellow Fighter

Monde

When Summer learned that Monde was looking for a fighting partner to venture into the Golem Workshop, she immediately applied. She had always tried to get closer to the gruff Pearlcatcher, but had failed to do so. It turned out her nature-based magic complemented Monde's abilities rather well and was very beneficial in the area of screws and metal. Summer patiently listens to Monde's tantrums, but is not scared to give him a knock on the head should he get reckless. Him deeply caring for Lune warms Summer's heart and she has sworn to keep him safe. It makes her very happy to see how he slowly softens towards her.
