As a hatchling Autumn could wield her element’s innate magics with ease, with which she used to power whatever small trinkets she made out of leftover scraps her caregivers provided. As time passed she took any chance she could to spend her days scavenging outside whatever temporary home she found herself in for advanced materials and parts. These resources fueled Autumn’s childhood innovations, allowing her to teach herself the basics of engineering with little outside aid. When she grew old enough that her orphanage’s caregivers recognized her well-developed self-taught skills, Autumn was sent to learn in one of her land’s top boarding schools. The academy not only guided Autumn into the expert engineer she became, but tempered her independent spirit. Here she learned to channel her unconventional tendencies into her work to tackle challenges and trust others enough to work alongside them in increasingly complex projects. It never completely restrained her spirit to her professors’ collective dismay, as Autumn found an outlet in minor pranks that could rarely be traced back to her and many independent studies. After her graduation Autumn was quick to set off and make a name for herself. She had no desire to be constrained under the leadership of another and sought to establish her own place in the trade. She found her chance in the Diverque Sanctuarium, the small but growing community full of opportunities for an enterprising engineer. The Sanctuarium thrived with Autumn’s influence. She built many of the everyday machines seen within the city and founded the basis of its technological system. Her long-time commitment to the Sanctuarium earned her the position of Chief Engineer and invaluable accomplishments made her into a distinguished figure. Current Life Autumn spends her days working nonstop on projects big and small. She oversees the other engineers within the Sanctuarium but is content to let them do as they wish with minimal interference. On the Council she often pitches large-scale projects that could help the city as a whole, obtaining their backing and funding when need be. Even with a busy schedule Autumn sets aside time for her family. Whether it be dragging along children to work to teach using hands-on experience or planning gatherings to reconnect with remote relatives, there’s always something to look forward to. |
