Core is more down to Earth than his mate Abyssa. But although he rarely participates in her antics, he truly and deeply loves the guardian. And he has vowed to protect her, protect the ship and the Guild. They might not be out there apprehending criminals or catching Fiends. But their job is also very important. Without their ship, the Guild wouldn't get their supplies as fast.

Core uses his storm sensing abilities to detect storms, so their ship can turn away in time, to avoid catastrophic damage. Not only does the ship carry food and supplies, but sometimes also noble dragons or those who are on the wrong end of the law. So it is extremely critical to know where it is safe to sail.

As much as Core likes sailing, he prefers to swim by their ship to safeguard it. Or quickly help dragons who might fall down and such.

The guardian also helps his lifelong friend Lagoon retrieve shipments, both new and lost ones, from the depths of the sea. There are a lot of treasures hidden beneath the sand and layers of kelp and other seaweeds.
