Personality and Traits
Winterstorm is bitter, short-tempered, and never has anything nice to say to anyone. It's a wonder the clan keeps him around at all. He is fearful of thunderstorms and hates the cold with fierce intensity. He hates his clanmates for giving him his name. He only stays with the clan because he doesn't know where else to go or who to turn to. His Tourmaline Vulstal is named Aquarius after his late mate and the fox-like creature is his only friend.

History
He hatched alone in the Lightning domain, with no nestmates or parents to speak of. He wandered away from where he hatched with trepidation. Ferocious storms of immeasurable power broke loose and shook the ground, seeming to echo in his very bones. In fear, Winterstorm fled, scrambling in terror to escape the roaring thunder and lightning. He hadn't a clue where he was going and ended up being swept up into the sky by the strong winds. Whether by sheer terror or being hit by flying debris, he went unconscious. Upon waking up he found himself in a pile of snow with mountains all around.

He shivered in the cold from sunhigh to sunset, too afraid and weak to move. A young female Ridgeback found him before the sun went down and brought him back to her clan, the Vwilex clan. He refused to leave her side and regarded everyone else with fear and nervousness. Not having a name, the clan named him Winterstorm seeing as he arrived in the midst of a storm in the winter season. He has never told anyone that the name felt insulting and hurtful. Over much time, the Ridgeback, Aquarius, was able to coax him out of his shell and break down some of his walls. She introduced him to her friends and showed him clan life from afar. Aquarius was patient and gentle with him and she was the only one he felt he could trust and open up to.

Winterstorm was always jealous of her friendship with Cometrush, and came to openly despise the Skydancer. He often accused Cometrush, mentally, of stealing Aquarius from him, mistaking the other dragon's friendliness for affection towards her. One day, Aquarius told him she was going off the serve the Icewarden. Winterstorm was devastated by this news but knew he could never move to the Fortress of Ends with her. With a heavy heart he bid her farewell and made her promise to visit. Months passed without word from her. He found out from listening to Gemstone and Cometrush talking between themselves that she had been killed by a pack of Beastclan members. He attacked the former healer in anger - why hadn't he been told of her death? Cometrush was quick to knock him away from Gemstone and Winterstorm stalked off, feeling hurt and betrayed.

When the Vwilex Clan moved the Wind flight he was silently relieved to be away from the memory of Aquarius and the bitter cold, but bubbling with anxiety over the strong winds and moving platforms. He had been approached by Dmitri, the clan's dream interpreter, with the offer to ease the pained memories and nightmares. Winterstorm slashed his claws at the Nocturne in response, snarling that those nightmares were all he had left of Aquarius. Dmitri pressed that it was not a good coping method and he could help Winterstorm move on, but Winterstorm snapped he didn't want to just move on from her. Dmitri backed off after that, but Winterstorm's hatred for him remains. Since moving to the Light flight, he has been even more withdrawn and angry, but moreso at himself than his clanmates. Aquarius' memory is starting to fade and he is afraid of what will happen when he can no longer remember her voice or her gentle touches.
