Biography

Banner2.png

A strange dragon, with almost goddess-like powers.

Luloah doesn't share her story with others very often. In fact, she tends not to talk much at all. When she does speak, her voice is whispery and soft, and it always sounds like she's only half paying attention. Although she seems quite distant, Luloah is incredibly kind. She likes to help people when she can, and finds it painful to watch others suffer. It is a little hard for her to make friends and connect with others, however. Mainly because Luloah constantly seems distracted by things that no one else can see. It's like there's a whole other world layered just over this one that only she has access to, and she doesn't quite understand that no one else sees things like she does. Luloah is shy, soft-spoken, and sweet.

Luloah was born to two loving parents, who were thrilled to have a nest of three healthy hatchlings. Her siblings, two sisters, were rambunctious and energetic. Even at such a young age, Luloah was the quiet one. She liked to watch her sisters play, and listen to her parents tell stories, and never ever let go of her pearl. Even when invited to join her sisters, Luloah would just shake her head and clutch her pearl closer. Her parents, seeing this behavior, were concerned about her apparent reluctance. They tried to reassure her, showed her that she could carry her pearl on her in a bag, but Luloah preferred to hold it.

And then, one day, she got sick. And, for the first time, she was too weak to hold on to her pearl. It was then that Luloah began to exhibit strange powers. Things in the room began to levitate and shatter, and she was unable to control it or stop herself. Even when her parents entered the room, Luloah couldn't stop the magic from pushing them away. They had to stay away from her until her fever broke, and she could once again curl up around her pearl.

The magic stopped, but Luloah could still feel it bubbling within her. Now that the seal had been undone, she could never quite put it all back again. Whenever she was feeling upset, things around her would begin to break, and other dragons would find themselves being pushed or tossed away by an invisible force. Luloah's parents, aware that she could be seen as a danger by others, did their best to keep her safe from prying eyes. They allowed only her sisters around her, and spent a lot of time teaching Luloah how to keep her emotions under control. Neither of them had any inherent magic, but they were too worried about someone taking their daughter away to reach out to a potential teacher.

Luloah was always delicate, however, and she was only a little older when she came down with an even worse illness. The kind that could not be cured without a healer. Her parents, worried for their child, reached out to an old friend and pleaded for his help. He came and tended to her, but when he saw her outbursts of magic in her weakened state, counted her as potentially dangerous to her family and herself. And so, betraying Luloah's parents, he turned the young pearlcatcher in.

She was imprisoned and labeled dangerous. And she would have stayed there for the rest of her life, had it not been for the eventual sympathy of one of the guards.

It was several years later when Nixie became one of Luloah's guards, but she quickly began to feel sympathy for the other dragon. And so, after a few months, Nixie snuck Luloah out of the cell, and ran off with her to freedom.
