When you first meet her, Hirono is the most stoic individual known to mankind. She's not mean, necessarily - she just has a very impressive case of resting b-face and very little voice inflection. She'll carry on conversations well enough, but all the while you may have the impression she hates you. If and when (usually when) she finally opens up, however, she does a complete 180 - suddenly she's absolutely delighted by anything and everything and loves life itself. Once you get her going, boy does she go. Which is the real Hirono? Both, actually, because people are multifaceted, don't be cowards.

At first glance, Hirono Ekyou doesn’t seem like much of an oendan. In fact, it’s a little difficult to think of her getting excited for anything, let alone to the point of screaming and banging drums. However, despite her resting death glare, Hirono is surprisingly quick to smile - and those at her school that she attends report that they would “die a thousand deaths for that smile”. Aside from that apparent highly effective motivator, Hirono dedicates herself to her cheering and choreographs her team’s performances herself, going from stony expression to solemn screaming in an instant. Notably, ever since she started practicing oendan, her school’s sports teams have never lost a match. Coincidence? Most likely, but her skills more than qualify her for Hope’s Peak regardless.

Iris and Hirono are very close friends, especially due to shared peripheral interests in entomology! Except that Hirono isn't exactly happy with being constantly leaned on as a source of comfort. Not like she'll ever bring this up to Iris, of course! She has to be grateful for their friendship, after all.

Though Hirono doesn't actually talk to Ririka often, she's still a pretty central figure in her life right now - largely because Ririka's made it her mission to look out for Hirono's well being, whether Hirono likes it or not. Hirono herself doesn't think that the situation with Iris is that big of a deal, though, so don't worry about it!

Hirono and Alexei's friendship was born of necessity but grew to be something stronger, as both of them ended up way too attached to people they probably shouldn't have been attached to. Neither are very talkative, but Hirono's more than happy with that. It's nice to just exist with someone you care about, sometimes.
