Biography

SHADE
7Mme9lX.png
arcana:
the fool

friends:
glow, tinnire

originally:
gen1
guardian
basic x3

despite being hatched from a lost fire egg and quickly taking on the form of a coatl, shade has never seen the ashfall waste. he was moved to the carillon clan soon after birth, where the winds were peaceful and there were no orange eyes like his to look to. born a guardian, the hatchling was enthused to take on the coatl gene, but the dramatic changes in his early life have left him confused about his own nature.

he is not yet sure how to control the fire magic that runs through his veins, and has had several close instances where the winds nearly turned his experiments into wildfires. on top of this, of the three coatls in the clan for shade to look to, one especially distrusts those of the flamecaller's influence. this has lead shade to keep his curiosity about himself and his abilities private, and although he is still as curious as ever, he is ashamed to show anything of his fire nature in front of others.

the only exception to this is with his best friends, glow and tinnire. their games are the only times he feels he can explore himself without judgement or shame. this often leads to clumsy attempts at casting fire magics while playing, but his friends are only ever encouraging and quick to laugh off any fumbles. shade is terribly loyal to them both; maybe it is because of the secret he feels allowed to openly share with them, but it may also have to do with the guardian part of his nature that he never had time to get to know.

in interaction, shade is earnest and sticks to what he believes is right. he is quick to stand up for those who need it- that includes himself, but underneath, shade's self-esteem is bound back by a sense of shame and doubt. he may not back down from his arguments, but afterward he is often plagued by guilt. though he is up for solitary adventures as they provide a chance to think, he looks to glow for leadership just as often.
