Once upon a time, a young female Pearlcatcher whose scales were dull was crying to herself one night. She cried because the one Guardian she loved despite his mixmatched coloring would never notice her. As the moon shone upon her, she heard whispers.
"Do not fret, child. I'm here to make a deal. If you accept, your scales will shine as radiant as me when the amount of light I am resonating is at its climax. But you must get together with your love, and you must start a family of lunar scholars, mages, and other worshipers to worship me."
The Pearlcatcher shed her last tear of the night, and thought. Once the moon was at its zenith, she finally looked up. "We have a deal." she said loudly, and in that instant, her once-dull scales shined with a brilliant radiance.
In between the Pearlcatcher's initial encounter with the moon and said Pearlcatcher accepting the deal, a lone Guardian was crying to himself. His colors were too bright and they clashed. He was so hideous, he was thrown out of his clan. And with his horrible colors, the Pearlcatcher he loved despite her dull scales would never find him attractive. But then he saw the moon, and it spoke to him.
"Do not fret, child. I'm here to make a deal. If you accept, your scales will match perfectly, and they will shine like the full moon. But you must get together with your love, and you must start a family of lunar scholars, mages, and other worshipers to worship me."
The Guardian thought for a few moments, then he finally looked up. "We have a deal." he said loudly. In that instant, his scales gleamed a beautiful silver. Amazed by his change, he set off to find the Pearlcatcher he loved.
The two found eachother, and barely recognized eachother. But somehow, they fell in love. And now they're going to start a family.
