Now for some Fr-related general headcanons

Snappers make some of the best mages in the world because they can perfectly remember every single spellbook they've ever read even once.

Family heirlooms are extremely important to tundras to help them remember their loved ones.

Perfumes/air fresheners/ect are considered dangerous shady things and anyone who uses them highly untrustworthy in tundra society.

Bogsneaks are actually an artificial hybrid of Faes and Snappers, not a whole breed on their own.

Arcane dragons can walk on walls and ceilings

The Beastclans have a army of kidnapped dragons. That's how they suddenly became a major threat when the encyclopedia clearly states that before dragons were too large and powerful for them to take down on their own.

g

Imperials are generally feared and looked down on by all.

The reason there's so few imperials living at the species' point of origin is partially because of bitterness at the feeling of their creator having replaced them and partially because of pearlcatchers. Specifically, light is home to a high concentration of pearlcatcher-only clans that will do anything in their power to drive out lesser breeds to preserve their purity.

Mirrors are totally cannibals and carrion-eaters. So are most inhabitants of the scarred wasteland.

The carrion canyon has a very large population of plague dragons in it.

Nocturnes can't go into deserts or tundras (The environment, not the breed) alone because they'll start trying to mimic the ground or the sun or something and die.

Shadow snappers will never tell you anything they know. Ever.

Nocturnes are valued in the workforce because they can pick up new skills easily.

They're valued in any fields involving mass-production or recordings in particular (Copying texts, recording meetings, factory assembly lines, ect)

Nocturnes also make very good portrait artists.

And they hunt by acting like they're random environmental objects until food gets close.

Pearlcatcher's pearls exist as a side effect of a poor digestive system, and originally they started carrying them around as a way to confine all the mess to one place.

Said poor digestive system is poor because they're basically a dwarf version of imps. They're an attempt to remake imps that didn't go quite as planned.

Pearlcatchers probably invented tabloid magazines. The floor of the sunbeam ruins is littered with tablets proclaiming such things as the flamecaller and tomo having a secret love affair and that you too can lose those unsightly pounds in just 3 days with this new all-soylent green diet.

Shed ridgeback spines can be collected and fashioned into weapons. Beastclans have caught onto this, so ridgebacks try to clean them up and hide them whenever they can.

Molted snapper scales can be made into crude armor plates.

Spirals do really well in water, except for the fact that they have to go on land to find food.

Spirals LOVE to sleep with plushies. They fill their beds with piles and piles of the softest stuffed animals they can find. Sometimes they'll even carry them around while awake.

Spirals are rarely welcome anywhere because of their tendency to carve tunnels into everything to the point of collapse. Most clans will actively drive them out of the area, and in many places they're considered uncivilized pests rather than people.

Tundras in the shifting expanse are constantly puffed up into balls from all the static. Most decide to shave their fur off entirely.

Tundras in the ashfall waste either shave it off willingly or have it burned off.

Nocturnes are very vulnerable to recruitment and cult indoctrination. Many tyrannical governments consider them integral to maintaining networks of propaganda.

Spiral's ability to destroy structures with their networks of thin tunnels is put to good use on the battlefield. Often working alongside ridgebacks and tundras, they will stealthily carve through and hollow out key structures and the ground under their enemies until it collapses spectacularly.

Spirals (Shadow in particular) may also dig hidden spying tunnels in the walls and floor from which to safely listen. Many organizations employ skydancers to sniff these potential intruders out.

Nocturnes of the Shrieking Wilds have learned to perfectly mimic bird calls, allowing them to hunt by luring their avian prey to their location and quickly ambushing from the shadows.

The sparsely-inhabited wild areas of the Shifting expanse remain poorly-to-not-at-all charted to this day thanks to a combination of natural hazards and the landscape living up to it's name. It's a very easy place to vanish into.

Water magic can do necromancy as in contacting spirits and earth magic can do necromancy as in raising zombies

Primitive Toasters and old-timey radio stations exist

Something like tvs and arcade cabinets exist but they're very primitive, rarely seen, not typically available to the average citizen, and are mostly magic-based

A guardian's charge can be something or someone they hate, like the person that murdered their family

Bogsneaks can be translators for Fae body language

The sap that Faes build their houses with can be made into jewelry and sold

Significant visible mutations are a lot more common than official art shows, especially in breed hybrids. For example, a Nocturne with Imperial ears and mane or a Mirror with fishlike features.

Train cars are the size of entire buildings and are definitely held together by magic

and some unanswered lore questions

What would happen if a pc lost their pearl but were also given their dead sibling/parent/ect's pearl and started adding onto it in place of their own?

Can a guardian's charge be themselves?

Can a guardian's charge be someone else's pearl?
