Biography

"Of course, it didn't end there."
The Tundra chuckled, "By the Eleven, no. The trouble was just starting." Deimos shook his mane, "The Shadowbinder was slain, but the other Flights would not have forgotten her declaration of war. We would have been vulnerable without a Deity." A rustle of thistle wings, "Shadow Flight needed a new Shadowbinder, and those who survived the battle turned to The Hunters Three. The hero's had fought and won our freedom, surely one of them could become the new Shadowbinder." A quick smile, "Can you guess who they chose?" "Oh, oh! Was it Diablo? He was kind and brave, rescuing the hatchlings he could, and it was his illusion that fought the Shadowbinder!" Naedal the Skydancer chirped excitedly, "Diablo would make a gentle Shadowbinder!" Another hatchling, an older Guardian nearly done with his final growth spurt, chimed in, "A gentle Shadowbinder, maybe, but passive. He hid the hatchlings' deformities, but didn't fight for them! It was Lilith's sense of Justice that led them against the Shadowbinder, and her power over Shadow that laid the shattering blow!" "If strength were all that mattered the Shadowbinder wouldn't have ruled as long as she did!" Came the waspish voice of young Sandia, the Goat-eyed Mirror. "It was Helbram who saw through the Shadowbinders illusions, first uncovering her plot against the hatchlings, and then finding her in the battle! The Shaman and the Enchantress would've failed without the Trickster!" With that, the younglings fell about in a quarrel, arguing about the merits of the three candidates, and attempting to determine the rightful Shadowbinder. Deimos prrrumed his amusement as the hatchlings bicked. "-of them." Deimos raised an eye to the siblings who had spoken in unison. Of all the hatchlings under Deimos' wing, the brothers were the only ones with Shadow eyes. With a stretch of wing the Tundra silenced the squabbling lot and turned to the Shadow Twins, "Your reasoning?" A glance at each other, and the Bogsneak spoke, "None could have defeated the Shadowbinder alone-" The Skydancer finished his brother's thought, "-only together could they match her in magic, shadow, and wit." The two shuffled as Deimos stared at them, unnerved by the Shadow of his own eyes. |
"You're not wrong."
