Father
Egg Keeper   "You can wrestle with him yourself. I'm going to get some rocky road." Benedict, better known by his preferred alias Father, is one of the Reversal Pack's Egg Keepers. His job is to watch over Nests and Hatchlings, making sure nothing bad happens to them. Despite his fiery temper and position as a Villain, he's genuinely good with Dragonets - if a little overprotective. Father, despite his Light heritage, is very much like a stereotypical Fire Dragon. As mentioned before, he has a fiery temper, but he can also use Fire Magic in almost any way he chooses (including literally catching on fire at will). He calls it a blessing from the Flamecaller (much to Comet's annoyance), and will proudly demonstrate his abilities to anyone who asks him to... for the price of a full tub of rocky road ice cream. And dear Shadowbinder above, does he have a LOT of dad jokes. Father got his alias and parenting skills from his experience with the Delightfuls, his adoptive Dragonets that he's raised since they were barely Hatchlings. The only thing he loves more than rocky road is his Dragonets, whom he will protect and stick up for in any way possible. Now, if only those pesky Dragonets Next Door would stop blaming them for everything that goes wrong and claiming that Father and the Delightfuls are trying to create a Sornieth ruled by adults...  Asher Flamerest Fiendcat "I'm a cat that's literally on fire. Of COURSE I'm gonna be aquaphobic." Asher is Father's Familiar. The two met on one of the seaside cliffs near the Blacksand Annex, where Asher claimed the Flamecaller herself had told him to "wait for someone". He believed Father was that "someone", and has been his Familiar ever since. Asher doesn't often interact with the Pack's Familiars. This is mostly on him, as he's more interested in researching Dragons who can use Magic outside of their own Flight, which he calls "Wrongwings". He doesn't have much to go on so far, but he's determined to find out what makes a Wrongwing. History From a young age, Benedict was always curious as to how and why he could use Fire Magic. Neither of his parents were Fire Dragons, and none of his siblings could wield non-Light Magic. Wanting answers, the Imperial set out from his birth Clan not long after reaching adulthood, determined to not return until he knew why the Flamecaller had blessed someone not of the Fire Flight. Up in the Cloudscrape Crags one night, Benedict discovered that a rogue band of Beastclans had set up camp not too far from his. What caught him off guard was the little Nocturne Hatchling that he could see within the camp. A little Nocturne Hatchling that definitely did not belong there. A Hatchling that caused Benedict's sudden paternal instincts to ignite, triggering an almost unnatural urge to get the Dragonet as far from there as possible. And he did just that. In the dead of night, Benedict slunk into the Beastclan camp and stole the Hatchling right out from under their noses. During his flight far out into the Frigid Floes, the Nocturne woke up in a panic, but in a very fatherly way, the Imperial calmed him and promised everything was alright. With the Dragonet soothed, Benedict explained himself, and was relieved that the Nocturne seemed to trust him, even if he didn't fully understand. Unfortunately, the Hatchling had no idea who and where his parents were. Benedict's paternal instincts rose up again, and he instead opted to raise the Dragonet as his own. Some time later, Benedict found a lone Egg hidden in the Hewn City. With no clues as to who it belonged to, he adopted the Tundra that hatched from it. Days passed, and Benedict took yet another Hatchling under his wing: a Pearlcatcher. Crossing the Sea of a Thousand Currents and a Ridgeback was found on the border of the Windswept Plateau. Finally, after adopting a Fae that had been abandoned on the southern reaches of the Starfall Isles, Benedict decided that his little brood was complete. For a first-time parent raising five Dragonets all on his own, each of a different breed with different needs and instincts, Benedict - or Father, as he taught them to call him - did surprisingly well. His "Delightful Dragonets", as he liked to call them, might have grown up a bit sheltered and rather overdependent on their father, but so what if polite, well-behaved kids also happen to be kind of clingy? They're still adorable. The only real problem was the secret organization of Dragonets that had been relentlessly hounding Father and his Dragonets ever since he first adopted them. This organization, the "Dragonets Next Door", claimed that he was trying to create a world ruled by adults - no, they don't realize how redundant that sounds - and he had kidnapped and brainwashed the Delightful Dragonets to help him do it. Despite Father's denial of these accusations, the Dragonets Next Door kept on chasing after them. The worst among them were the operatives of Sector V, who had decided to make it their sworn duty to steal the Delightful Dragonets' hatchday cake whenever one of their hatchdays rolled around. They supposedly did this because the Delightfuls wouldn't share the cake with anyone else, paying no mind to the fact that other Dragonets tended to find them creepy. This pointless game of cat-and-mouse went on for years before, all of a sudden, everything went bone-chillingly quiet. Since a moving target is harder to hit, Father and the Delightfuls had chosen to stay on the move rather than settling down with a Clan. They decided to take advantage of this momentary cease fire and set out for somewhere else while they still could. Unfortunately, as they were flying over the Tangled Wood, a terrible storm kicked up. Fearing for the lives of his Dragonets, Father led them down to the ground and found a shallow cave dug into a huge rock. A cave that would serve as a perfect shelter from the storm. The next evening, when the storm had passed, Father and the Delightfuls were surprised to find themselves surrounded by Dragons. From these Dragons, a Guardian stepped out and introduced himself as Alpha Illusion, leader and founder of the Reversal Pack. Having explained themselves, Father and the Delightfuls were offered to join the Reversal Pack. According to Illusion, the rock, Mount Mystery, gave off an otherworldly energy that kept the Pack's territory hidden from the rest of Sornieth most of the time. Despite his reluctance, Father admitted it'd be the perfect place to hide out from the Dragonets Next Door, and he and his Dragonets agreed to stay. A few weeks later, and the Delightful Dragonets were shocked to discover that one of the Reversal Pack's allies, the Moonlit Grove Clan, was home to some familiar faces: Sector V. The game of cat-and-mouse started right back up again, with the Dragonets Next Door always blaming Father and his Dragonets for anything that goes wrong and the latter always having no choice but to fight them off. |

Understandably, by now Father's just getting really tired of the whole thing. He just wants to eat rocky road ice cream and do stuff with and for his kids, but according to a bunch of delusional ten-year-olds, he's an evil genius mastermind who wants to rule the world. Now some DND operatives are even saying he knows something about this mysterious "Sector Z", and that it's the whole reason he adopted the Delightful Dragonets in the first place.
