Nobody is exactly sure what Hewn is, but that does not really seem to matter to most of the clan.

Through the dark, drifting mist of the Ghostlight Ruins, sometimes a flashing spark can be glimpsed. A beacon to lost travelers, the ribbon of light may dance around the broken buildings, often leading those curious enough to its small lair, a den carved into hard-packed ground beneath what may have once been a fountain.
Here the source of the light usually makes itself visible, appearing as a young mirror of flame-colored hide and a dark, swirling pattern not completely unlike the mists above the den.
Within its apparent home, the hatchling hoards an assortment of trinkets, found abandoned all throughout the Ruins. Taking any item from one of the piles does not seem to anger or disturb the small mirror at all, and so it may mean that is exactly what it wants; to give back what it finds in its travels.

The hatchling has appeared enough times to the clan's fighting team, it has earned a nickname and a weekly visit. Hewn is regarded as a part of the clan, even if it is not aware of it, or does not care.
