Biography

Daika
Clan Progenitor

Daika was told a Fae couldn't survive alone. Like that was going to stop her.
---

It didn't have to. Daika wasn't alone for long. She found Servic, a Guardian on Search- or perhaps he found her? But Servic kept her company during their travels, and even learned to understand some of the wingspeak of Fae. Daika loved him for that.
In turn, she learned his moods and tells, and took delight in surprising him with this self-taught knowledge.

They wandered, without a care for who followed whom.

When Daika fell in love with cypress knees and mirrored pools, Servic followed.
---

They built a lair, together.

She's still not sure what he found, in this mossy wood, but Servic appears to have completed his Search. But watching the clan's hatchlings crawling over his spines, or sitting quietly while he tells them a story, Daika knows.
---

They're a proper clan now, aren't they? First Kovu the Bogsneak sliding in and making himself comfortable without a by-your-leave, and then- well, the rest just followed in a piecemeal, fashion.
A colorful, eclectic bunch, but they all seem to have found some peace since coming here. Daika can understand that.

Hmm. Maybe it's time to write old friends, and let them know where Daika's put down roots.
---

Morrigan has been a huge help since she arrived, the dragon having a talent for speaking simply and deriving reason out of the overwhelming. Not to mention how, as a Bogsneak, she's literally built for marshlife. Daika is almost envious of how gracefully the Alchemist slides around the trees, as a Fae never could.
---

Turns out Arlo, Daika's old adventuring companion, joined a clan in Lightning, and suddenly Daika is negotiating with a Sister Clan.
And no, Servic's huffs of amusement are not appreciated. Daika's retaliatory tail-swipes are more than deserved.
---

It wasn't a rushed decision, Daika considered it carefully. Things she would lose to the transformation, like the fluttery, agile wings she was born with, and the ability to create amber jewels to showcase her collection of insects- but she wanted, desperately so, and Servic was supportive.

It was only a matter of finding an Alchemist.
---

Opening her- smaller -eyes was an experience. No longer having to strain to see in the gloomier patches of wood, colors more vivid, shapes clearer. The damp no longer chaffed, instead felt soothing against her scales.
And her scales! Thicker, heavier, but more supple than a Fae's. Her hide felt like that the Longnecks occasionally traded in, actually.
Her new sense of taste would take some getting used to. Less spoken of the learning curve there, the better.

But of all the various changes, improvements, none made Daika feel as much joy as being able to stand to Sevic's shoulder. Still smaller than the Guardian, but no longer miniscule in comparison.

His amused chuffs earned him another tail-swipe.
Only this time, he actually flinched. Oops.
