Mayday

Seventy years ago, an airliner was making its way through the Shifting Expanse when its flight path fell between two converging storm cells. Unable - naively unwilling - to divert, the pilots watched the storms converge around them. The resulting turbulence sheared the wings off of the aircraft and doomed the dragons inside. The energy in the skies sustained their spirits as they combined to create something not vengeful, but forever stuck in a state of terror. Mayday is the combined spirit of the vessel, its pilots, and its passengers. To this day, when two storms cross over the Shifting Expanse, their voices can be heard on the radio frequencies, forever requesting vectors for a landing they'll never make.
