As a hatchling, her parents worried she might never control her magic - one eye shone the expected bright cyan, but the other gleamed gold. Their healer performed tests, prodded and poked, but her mana was surprisingly stable. Warring elements they might be, but within Lahnik - somehow - they could coexist.

She dove into magical studies as soon as she was old enough to understand everyone's concerns about her - but what they saw as potential danger, she saw as opportunity. She was unique (or close enough, anyway). Think of what she could do! Long hours at the library became hours spent in the training grounds, learning to harness her disparate magics, throwing bolts and beams and dazzling comets of the two combined.

Still, as entertaining as her practice was, she knew the real test of her power would have to come from real conflict. She signed up for the first open posting for a guard she found, and set about making a name for herself.
