B I O G R A P H Y

______ A young dragon flew silently over the barren trenches of the Carrion Canyon. She tried to see through the black metal that had been forced onto her face and other parts of her body so long ago. She couldn't remember who put the pieces onto her but she did remember the horrible pain. Her first real memory was waking up in a cold dark barely able to see a thing, and flooding her ears were roars of pure agony. She remembers trying to lift her face of the cold stone but it being held down by something. She was able to turn her face and look in confusion at the medal wedged into her wings and around her legs. It was everywhere, not one spot on her body didn't have some kind of metal design surrounding it. Her soft pink feathers where barley seen under all the black metal. Suddenly there was a bright light as the door to her stall was thrust open. The small hatchling didn't get a chance to see who stood before her before a chain was thrust into one of the gaps in the metal around her neck.

______ She remembers the first time she truly felt fear, as she was dragged by her neck up a small ramp and thrown into a crate below chain and all. She lay on the wooden surface unable to stand under all the metal that weighed her down. She tried to look around in the dark and was able to see dragons like her they were covered in metal, some were trying and failing to stand while others just laid defeated in the wooden crate. Suddenly the crate was moving, heading towards a destination unknown. The young unnamed hatchling tried to get a look at her surroundings but wooden boards blocked her vision. Above her, to her left, right everywhere just wood and dragons. She remembers the terror she felt as she lay on the unforgiving cart, the metal pushing into her sides. They were in that cart for what felt like years, constantly hitting bumps causing the metal to sink further into her hide. Then it all stopped and the crates lid was opened. She had to close her eyes because of the bright light that shone down on them. Then for the first time in her life she saw the face of an adult dragon, which like her own was covered in metal.

______ Lhe young dragon tried to look past the black metal to see the beautiful turquoise covered face that lay underneath but before she could get a good looks the chain around her neck was ripped upwards. She was able to lock eyes with the older dragon before she was dragged of. “Wait!” the beautiful dragon said. The dragon carrying her let go of the chain causing her to plummet onto the ground. She let out a soft groan of pain as the metal dug sharply into her skin. “What.” The dragon above her growled sharply. “I will be taking that one back to my hoard with me. Charge my account accordingly” The beautiful dragon said above her before walking towards her and taking the chain from off the ground into her mouth. The other dragon just huffed and went to the crate to get a different dragon. “I'm sorry about this.’’ The young dragon heard before she was whisked into the air. The young dragon let out a whimper of fright as she was flown out of a building and into the sky. The young dragon watched in amazement as they flew higher into the clouds. The sky around her was so beautiful, it was so pink, and if it weren't for the metal that covered her body the young dragon would have blended right in with the sky around her. After a short flight the young dragon was set onto the ground. She remembers looking up at the dragon and noticed that it look a lot like her, but only blue and covered in a lot less metal. “Welcome to your new home. I think we will call you dusk since you seem to blend in so well!” The dragon said. After a few days in her new home she learned that the dragons there would try to rescue dragons like her whenever they had the funds to do so. And after a few weeks they were able to remove most of the metal. Sadly it couldn't be taken off a few spots because it would be to dangerous, but the young dragon didn't care much, this was more freedom than she had ever know. Dusk sighed as the memories of her past flew through her mind, but she gently pushed them aside as she flew home.
