As much as he hates to admit it, he is a follower. He follows the most prominent dragon available until they die. Then he leeches off the next. He is like a parasite; unable to get rid of without extermination.
Before Clan Erudite, Salem was nothing. Before Eines, he was nothing. Eines helped a lowly criminal find a place in the world. He was always working for smaller groups, until one eventually turned on him. Someone snitched, and for once it wasn't him. Even though he was ruthless, it didn't mean he was strong willed. He fled, fearing for his life. It seemed like he did that a lot.

But he doesn't care.
