Biography

Okra is the oldest hatchling of Aos's, and once strived to be better than her sister, Confudit, ever was. This led to a one-sided rivalry, spanning the entirety of their childhoods. This deeply saddened their brother, Ronin, which led to him leaving them alone to talk out their differences as he stood nearby in case fighting broke out. Unfortunately, Confudit had no idea that Okra had felt this way for so long. Shouting that Confudit was lying, Okra launched herself at her sister, aiming to kill. Confudit managed to jump out of the way, and Okra was left to land a little ways away. The ground was unstable, however, and gave way under the force of the elder sister's landing. Unable to fly, Okra screeched as she attempted to scramble backwards and back up the cliff. That was when she felt it- the grip of her sister's jaws as Confudit caught her by the tail and prevented her from falling to her death. Using newfound strength Okra hadn't realized her sister had developed, the younger sister pulled Okra up and back onto solid ground, immediately asking if she was alright. Okra was only able to stare in shock as her sister checked her over for wounds, right before she burst into tears, shouting nonsense (in Confudit's eyes) about how even now, after Okra had tried to kill her, Confudit was still trying to make sure she was okay. Confudit merely sighed, nuzzling her sister as Okra wailed like a scared child. After that event, the two set aside their (rather one-sided) differences, and became closer than any other pair of dragons in the clan. Now, they only wish to encourage the other to be the best they can be. Separating them now would be a suicide mission.

But that is far from the end of her story.

Everything had seemed normal for months after the original incident between Okra and her sister, and the group of siblings had been content to remain as they were. The universe, however, had different plans.

Adventures had been commonplace for the two sisters, with them taking on the brunt of hunting jobs most days. It was enjoyable enough, and with the skill they shared, fairly easy. Bugs were gathered in swarms, schools of fish seemed to swim right into their claws, and animals were no match for their speed. Plants, well... plants didn't move unless they were attached to travelling gardens.

But Confudit wanted something new, something exciting. They'd seen it all, hadn't they? Okra hadn't wanted to admit it at the time, but she felt the call toward greater things as well. Perhaps more than her sister.

"What more is there to explore?" Okra had asked, scraping her claws idly against the stone of the lair. "Like you said, we've seen it all."

"We've never been on a scavenging expedition, though!"

"Well, yeah. Usually those are reserved for the eldest dragons? They know what to look for better."

"So specifically Stormchaser."

"He isn't... that old..." Okra muttered.

She had to admit, though. It was sort of unfair.

So, that night, they approached their mother and father. It didn't take much- Confudit definitely had favoritism on her side, Okra realized only slightly bitterly.

"Tomorrow, then. You two can go with Stormchaser and Pathfinder," Aos had said, Carnagi nodding his agreement.

It wasn't long before the two sisters shared a tail highfive and a few excited roars.

The expedition had started normally enough. A few pawns here and there, some shattered pottery, but nothing of extreme interest. Even a Dodo didn't have to look hard to tell the twins were bored out of their minds.

"Was it everything you were hoping for?" Okra had said, pulling yet another black pawn out of the dirt. "Matchin' your expectations?"

Confudit didn't answer. At least, not in the way she had expected her to.

"Hey, Okie. I found something."

"Oh yeah? More shattered glasses, I'm assuming."

"No. Something... actually interesting."

That had gotten Okra up. She tossed the pawn to the side, scrambling to see what it was her sister had found. A scroll was not what she had expected.

"Really."

"No, look closer. I think it's got magic infused in it."

Okra squinted, leaning closer. It was definitely magical. But what was it for?

"I'm gonna touch it."

"Famous last words, Okra."

There was a bright flash as Okra slapped a hand onto it. When the two could see again, something was noticeably different.

Okra had screamed in unison with her sister. Her once smooth skin had become covered in fur, and she was significantly taller than she had once been. Needless to say, they grabbed their two companions and rushed home.

Muuimir was happy to provide insight to the two, and explained that what she had touched was a breed change scroll.

"The effects of that scroll are irreversible," he had said, rolling his pearl underfoot. "You're an ancient dragon now. My recommendation would be to learn what is new as soon as possible. You will adjust faster that way."

And with that, he dismissed them.

Okra is still learning how to adjust to such a drastic change in species, though her family is there every step of the way.

"I think the weirdest part about this is that I still feel like me. 'Cept now I have this... really weird pull to fight the Shade."
