Biography
The Sky Lair
Rainurr does not know much about her family, but she does know that the Sky Lair was for her to inherit. Rainurr as a hatchling had been taken in by the Gale Valley Clan, and the dragon who brought her to them brought the Sky Lair with them for the hatchling to have once she was old enough. The dragon who brought it had been a close friend of Rainurr's parents, before they had left.
1. A construction resembling that of a small hot air balloon. Realistically, even the two of these could not hold up the Sky Lair. See (5) to see how it works. Flare and Wynrath take turns lighting them each day and they sustain the flame with their fire magic.
2. A take off/landing platform outside of the bedrooms. The bedrooms are where the Sky Lair's residents (excluding mounts and large familiars such as clouddancers) spend the majority of their time inside. The spirals' beds are poles with small platforms attached halfway up. This is so the spirals can coil around the pole and rest their bodies on the platform. The second bedroom, where Flare sleeps, has a normal bed of cushions where she can rest. On the walls and floors of both bedrooms are various items from their travels. To the right is a storage room for food or other important items.
3. The stables. This is where Nir and Nyrar, the two clouddancers, usually rest. Their tack is kept in a room accessible on the right. The stable has two large rectangular boxes which contain food and water respectively. Because the Sky Lair is airborne, it is prone to turbulence so the food and water must be protected so it does not spill. The clouddancers have been trained to twist a special lock which lets them eat or drink. Usually, one of the Sky Lair's residents will bring fresh food to the familiars, but on a stormy day, they can eat from the box.
4. The largest take off and landing platform. This is where a Sky Lair resident will take off when mounted on a clouddancer. Above the platform is a painted flag with an illustration of a clouddancer on it. It was a gift from Neunial. Attached to the flagpole is a dragon kite made of bamboo and lightweight fabrics, which must be taken inside on particularly stormy days. Its rope is made of metal, to prevent it from blowing away.
5. An enchanted decoration based loosely on the appearance of the Windsinger. It is enchanted to boost the lightness of the Sky Lair, so that it can be supported by the two small balloons (see (2) for more information). This decoration was attached to the Sky Lair when Rainurr first recieved it, and none of the Sky Lair's residents know its origin... yet.
Rainurr is unable to fly. This is where she got the idea of riding on a familiar who can.
