Alai, "The All-Seeing", "Sentryman"

Alai was being sold away by a warring clan, who had claimed him as a prize of their latest raid. They assumed his multitude of eyes would make him a pretty penny on the market for overlord dragons interested in gaining yet another victim of war to become penniless servants.

Instead, Anthu found him. She agreed upon a lower price with the raiders and, knowing their ways, sought out Daydream to alter Alai's appearance so the raiders wouldn't recognize them if they ever came back. Alai was now free to either seek out any remnants of his previous clan, become a nomad, or join Anthu's own clan. He chose to remain here and use his eyes he once viewed as a curse to watch out for the clan as a sentry.

Occasionally, his eyes see more than the physical. Alai is able to peer into the future, but never at his own behest. He has saved the clan a great deal by being hit by sudden visions of invaders and rallying soldiers to defend our land.
