Biography
╭━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━╮
The sound of the machine's grinding was rhythmic, her foot working the pedal to the beat of some song left unheard. Hazel never needed to grind all that much coffee for work. It was too expensive around these parts for the laydragon to afford- so she breathed a sigh of relief every time someone asked her to cut it with copious amounts of cream and sugar. That, or someone would come in with a cup of something they had purchased down the street from Kaguya already. She'd been told before that it was cutting into her profit margins and that the two were technically "competitors," but she never begrudged anyone a warm drink. If her customer was still willing to sit and chat a while, indulge in a pastry or a fresh-served plate of scrambled eggs, they were still welcome. She had more things to worry about in her life than a little "profit." Most of all, it was important to her that everyone who found themselves at her door felt welcome to come in and stay a while- and most importantly, to come back again. Many times she'd been told the smell of freshly ground roast coffee was what kept people coming back, so even if she didn't use it all, it was always worth grinding a bit more. It made the cafe feel warmer, somehow. She paused grinding with her foot pedal to take a sip of her own mug- so much cream in it that it was more coffee flavored milk than anything- and looked down at the stained note beneath it. 'Consider investing in some tea from her yourself,' it read. But she'd been putting it off. Perhaps later today- Her train of thought was interrupted by the tinkling of the bell above the front door, as her feet suddenly found themselves well and planted on the ground, posture proper and practiced. "Oh, welcome! What can I help you with today?"
