I'll Save You - Jordan Sweeto
Few of the dragons of Clan Brayuh have directly encountered Changeling, the presumed leader of Clan Siofra. Those few who have spoken with him describe him as an impish, cocky, little mischief maker. He seems to delight in speaking in riddles and vagueries. However, despite being physically a barely-flighted hatchling, his eyes hold a level of wisdom and understanding far belying his seeming of tender years… and he hasn’t aged a day in the over a decade since Clan Brayuh first encountered him.

Far more often a sight than Changeling himself, however, are the young dragons of his clan. Young, because not one dragon has ever been encountered on Clan Brayuh’s western border older than a fledgeling, and like their patriarch all of them seem similarly frozen in time. Unlike Changeling, the other dragonlings of Clan Siofra act every bit like the children they appear to be, and their descriptions of the nocturne’s disposition are quite different. They describe him as a brave, fierce leader, a kind teacher, and a hero who saved them. Changeling took them in when they were alone and lost, they knew that much, but none of them seemed to be able to remember much of their lives before coming into the nocturne’s care.

Some of the mages in the clan suspected for a while that Changeling was some sort of malevolent creature disguised as a dragon hatchling, abducting and brainwashing young dragons. But curiously, their fears were eased by the loner tundra Seelie, who spoke up on Changeling’s behalf. By her account, they are right to surmise that he is more than he appears, but wrong to assume that he is malevolent. He does not trust adult dragons, hence his evasiveness and bad attitude, but he wouldn’t take in those hatchlings unless they legitimately had nowhere else to go, and he takes very good care of them.
