The role of the Chronicler of the Exultant Order is to maintain a record of the deeds of it members. These deeds include battles, Joinings, alliances, deaths, and other significant events, including those of the dragons who are granted to allied clans. It is formidable work that requires research, dedication, and a willingness to travel far and wide to collect the stories of those dragons who now live in distant territories.

Zeboiim was an early convert to the Exultant Order, joining when the clan was first getting its footing as a force to be reckoned with. In those days, the Order was still expanding its territory and had few allies. Thus, it kept many of the auspicious hatchlings born to its members. However, as the clan grew and subjugated other clans into their allies, it became more common for hatchlings to be granted to deferential clans as apprentices. During this time, the only record of what would become of these hatchlings was informal, consisting of hearsay and vague accounts.

This informality struck Zeboiim as wrong. Whether or not these dragons still dwelled within the Order's territory, they were still the chosen of the Ones Apart! They deserved to have their deeds recorded and remembered. Thus, Zeboiim began the Chronicle. The Chronicle is not one document, but rather, an archive of stories collected about the deeds of the Exultant Order, both great and terrible. Zeboiim takes pride in the veracity of each account; he does not embellish or sugarcoat the truth. The Chronicle has thus become an effective means of motivating adherence to the Order's values and beliefs; for what dragon would wish to have their story be one of shame rather than one of glory?

As Chronicler, Zeboiim is a figure of great respect and even reverence among the Order's other members. He has the ultimate say in how each dragon is remembered and there are even whispers that he can discern one's entire life from a glance. Zeboiim allows the falsehood to persist, knowing that it is an effective tool at drawing out the truth.
