A vain, self-important dragon with a good heart deep down. Like, deep, deep down. Maybe it's just buried in his nest of precious metals...

Perlapoi was a smuggler for much of his life, and really only joined the Sanctuary's Originals due to the promise that he'd be the only general trade store in the whole place, thus giving him a monopoly on the in-Clan market. He still gets to smuggle stuff, though.

Surprisingly enough, Perl's history as an illegal smuggler helped the planning and construction of the Clan and the Bolthole. He knows a lot of ways to hide things. Things he prepared to hide include, but are not limited to, a full warship, a creature the size of a deity, stolen treasure, stolen items, extremely dangerous scientific labs plus experiments, and dragons that don't want to be found.

Needless to say, he gets along well with Shadeshimmer and Azulea. Dubbed the Shady Trio, they use their nefarious abilities for noble causes!

Perlapoi went with the Dustcarve Expedition party, and came back a bit different.
He was helping to run supplies to and from the dig site. During the final preparations for the return trip, a load of ~~loot~~ gifts fell off the caravan and broke open, spilling scrolls and artefacts all over. When Perlapoi went to help clean up, he accidentally touched an Obelisk scroll!

Heliodor was delighted, of course, but it took Perl a bit to come to terms with the sudden change and think of ways to spin his new species in his favour. He's perfectly happy as he is, now.

Icrian has the heart (and conventional morals) he lacks, as well as the respect for others. She's a kind centaur, and makes sure Perlapoi doesn't accidentally doom his Merchant Market by angering the wrong dragon.

Rubblum is a chronic geo-hoarder-- they'll hoard worthless, pretty rocks and priceless gems alike.

Jin is as imposing as a mountain, as big as Obelisk-sized Perl even as a centaur. He doesn't speak much, so he's the local expert in Beast-sign and is very good at charades.
