Zerrah works as a mage and researcher on behalf of the Amethyst Spire. She has a motherly way about her, caring for her projects as much as her children. Her specialty tends toward magical constructs, golems, homunculi, and the like. She takes great fascination in Emperors due to the nature of their being, though she hopes to never cross one herself, she prefers to read reports and ancient tales from afar.

She does not often speak of her scale coloration, except to her mate Kanta. They were both plunged into a magical well of unknown nature which caused the rippling colors to appear on them. When she has been pressed about it she has stated that they were the lucky ones. She has not found another who has escaped from that place unscathed. It is presumed that the well in question must be either in Shadow or Plague territory, but with neither of them opening up to the researchers, further details have not been come by thus far.
