Zephonyx began life as an unassuming Fae hatched by the burgeoning researchers of Clan Quills. He was immediately different from the rest of his family as he loved the water while most of his brethren hated their wings getting wet. As he learned about the flights he made it his dream to someday visit the Sea of a Thousand Currents. After the alliance with the Bloodmaw Clan, he was finally able to accomplish his dream, though the time in the depths seem to have caused an unusual development on his head, it makes late night studying a breeze!

After continuous exploration of the alchemical studies he has finally completed his transformation into a Bogsneak. His playful personality and love of water has only increased with the change. His continued magi-scientific exploration with the Amethyst Spire researchers has led to his discovery of what he calls "The Mana Capsule Mutation". This genetic discovery alters a dragon's internal organs to what is essentially a mana tank. He still needs to eat, however, 100% of what is consumed is then used to fuel his body and magic. He has applied this discovery to himself, and any other dragons that have requested the change.
You know what they say... Science never sleeps!

It was a regular day at Baldwin's when the letter came. Recently, the Quills Clan had allied with the Bloodmaw Reef Clan in the Sea of a Thousand Currents. Zephonyx, of course, was ecstatic to learn that a Water Clan was in cahoots with his own. He raced back to the Clan when he heard about the letter, making sure he could here Quillian as she read the letter out to the rest of the Clan.

Quote:
Dearest Quills Clan,
It is with good faith that I, Abyssma and Matriarch of the Bloodmaw Reef, send this letter.

Our patron Goddess, Aquas, created a law many eons ago. If any Clan that worshipped Her were to ally with another Clan, a representative of that Clan must visit the Reef for one day. She would personally guide them through our home in a mortal body.

We would like to request a member of your Clan to visit us today.

Kindest of regards,
Abyssma

There were a few moments of silence before Quillian spoke, "Who will go to the Bloodmaw Reef Clan and satisfy this request?" With no hesitation, Zephonyx pushed to the front.

"I volunteer!" His words rang out into the silence. With no-one to challenge him, Zeph packed only the essentials: food and himself. Then it was the simple matter of following Hawk, the courier, to the Bloodmaw Reef.

It was a longer journey than he had originally anticipated, his wings were starting to hurt. They had reached the northern coast, where the purple-tinged Tangled Woods spread across the horizon. "How much... farther?" he panted to the brown Coatl.
"~NNooat mmmuuueeechhshh~" Hawk warbled.
'Not much farther,' Zeph repeated mentally.

"~Fffffooooollllooaaaaw meeeeeaaa!~" Hawk sang, before folding his wings and diving towards the sea below.
"Wait what?!" Zeph panicked as he saw Hawk crash into the waves. Hovering, he began to panic. 'Oh no nonono! What did he say?! Should I get him?'

Hawk poked his head out of the water, a purple Skydancer beside him. "Are you coming, dear?" the Skydancer asked, Hawk allowing her to speak in his stead. The question made Zephonyx frown for a minute.
"You don't live on land?" he called down to the other dragons. Hawk and the Skydancer shared a look.
"Of course not, dear. We're a Water Clan!" the Skydancer giggled. The excitement grew on Zeph's face. With a loud whoop, he allowed himself to fold his wings and nose-dived into the sea.

"Aquas will see you now." The large, dark blue Guardian at the shell decorated door moved aside to let the Bogsneak through. Zephonyx walked through, nervous to meet a Goddess. No matter how minor.
"Greetings, Zephonyx of the Quills Clan. Would you like a tour of the Bloodmaw Reef?" Aquas had taken the form of a massive Guardian. Jade coloured horns curled over her fins while darker ones swooped backwards over her neck. Sapphires and silver adorned her scales.
Zeph nodded mutely, stunned by the simpleness of her form.

Aquas smiled kindly and led the awestruck Bogsneak through the Central Square. Looming ahead was a large red coral structure punctured by massive white granite spires. "Lady Aquas," Zeph nervously tested the title the minor deity had insisted on using.
"Yes, Zephonyx of the Quills Clan?"
"Just Zeph please, my Lady."
"Of course," Aquas smiled again.
"What is that building?" Every building was made by guiding the coral, much like how one would guide a bonsai into a certain shape.

"That is not a building of the Clan's design, but one made in the Third Age when the Shade attacked.
"It is called the Maw, and the centre of my power. Here is where I channel the currents around the Sea into the Leviathan Trench. Many try to find the bottom, few come out. I suggest you do not go further than the outer rim."

Finally, with the sun setting to the West, the entire Clan celebrated the new alliance with a feast. The redness of the Plaguelands caused the sunset to take on radiant red and orange hues, creating an amazing atmosphere of friendship and beauty. Zephonyx was given a room, made of pastel pink and blue brain coral, to rest his wings for the night and the journey home.
