PastelPaw

PastelPaw is the one of the oldest dragons in the lair, and has taken on a bit of a grandmotherly role in the clan as a result. Once from a distant clan, Paw found she had become unwanted there, and decided to leave on her own to avoid any scandal or conflicts. She traveled far to the north, to warmer climates, until she found herself at the clan's doorstep. Tired and weary from her journey, she asked for a place to stay for the night.

Cherry, of course, welcomed the old Tundra in with open wings, and she and Gem found Paw the coziest spot in the den they could manage. They brought her food and water, asking her all about her travels, and at once Paw knew she had found herself a new home. She asked to stay, and Cherry was delighted to have her become a new permanent member of the clan.

Over time, Paw found Cherry coming to her for advice, seeking her wisdom and experience, and she graciously helped the younger matriarch as much as she could. The two formed a close friendship, and although Paw had never led a clan herself, she had been around long enough to pick up a few things, and she was more than happy to share her knowledge with Cherry.

Then, one day, Khepri arrived at the lair. Gem introduced them, and Paw immediately saw a kindred spirit, both of them older and more world-weary. They became close, talking about shared experiences and all that they had seen on their travels, and over time they fell in love.

The only problem was that Paw was feeling too old, too run down. She had trouble leaving the lair most days because her back and wings ached too much to even walk. She feared that she was shackling Khepri to herself, and that she was holding him back.

Enter Onyx. He claimed that Bubbaloo had tipped him off to her worries, and he had created a potion to help her. It was only after she had accepted it and drank it that she found out that Onyx had been experimenting with the newly-hatched Sorbet's fur to see what kind of properties it might possess.

Sure enough, PastelPaw found herself transformed into an Obelisk. However, she also felt a hundred years younger, so despite the change, Onyx considered it to be a complete success. Especially because he wasn't sure he could change her back.

While becoming an Obelisk has certainly taken some getting used to, PastelPaw is just happy to feel young again, to be able to step out of the lair with her mate, and feel the wind under her wings once more. It was quite a journey to find her way to her new home, but she wouldn't change it for the world
