Jina

Jina joined Clan Balmoral rather out of the blue. She arrived on the doorstep of the Cathedral with a big smile and pretty much pounced on Unity.

"YOU!" she exclaimed. "I've been looking for you FOREVER!"

Quite literally, as it turned out. Unity was Jina's Charge, the one she had always been pulled towards. Of course, she had only realised this when she had seen him in the Arena, and so he was extremely surprised to discover that a dragon he had never met was somehow bound to him.

Then again, his own half-formed Charge from his Guardian father drove him to protect the unity of the clan and keep it at its best, meaning that he often knew another dragon was needed in the clan before they even arrived. That made Jina's unexpected arrival even stranger, until Majestas took him aside.

"The Charge is powerful magic," he explained to his son. "Jina wasn't essential to the unity of the clan."

"Then why is she here? And why has she picked me?"

"She hasn't picked you. Her existance was bound to yours from the moment her egg was created. She's here because she has to be. There's nowhere else she can be. There's no-one else she wants."

"But the clan-"

"She isn't essential to the clan," Majestas said gently. "But I think she might be essential to you."
