Katara is skilled in water magic that’s unique to her tribe in the south. She is the last one there
with this power since of a war that’s going on, and all the others like her were taken away to die.
Her mother was one of those taken away, and Katara had to take over for her and help keep the
family up. Her father had to leave to fight in the war, so she had to take care of herself and her
brother with very little outside assistance. The only thing that could save them was if the war
ended, but the only one who could do so disappeared years back. Years later, an unexpected
arrival came- the next in a powerful magical lineage, who had the power to end the war and make
things better for the world. This started a journey across the world, in which she gained full
control of her magics and showed the world how water was the best element of ALL.
Now as part of Waverider’s fandragon clan, she is protective of all the younger and weaker
dragons in the clan and acts like a mother to a lot of them. She, like the others, has no memory of
how she got here- but she knows a lot of other dragons in the clan (some of which she doesn’t
like too much), and they all help each other out with trying to fill in the missing parts. She acts
like nothing is wrong most of the time, but Waverider can tell she misses the places she knows.
She still has a necklace with the symbol of her tribe on it, and she sometimes sadly looks at it
when she’s alone.
