Massimino is a deaf mathematician who works behind the scenes in BMC basically wherever they need him. He can't work as a flight controller, because there's just too much verbal information for him to be able to process it visually, but he works just about everywhere else he can; in the back rooms, aiding the controllers in the control center, you name it. He loves math dearly the same way he loves his cats; frustrating, but still lovable. His two cats are deaf, too!
Aside from math, Massimino loves baking and debate. He lives in a house with his wife, a Coatl (who I have yet to marry him to), and their cats. Their house isn't the most organized, because his wife works as well, so neither of them are home much, but because of Massimino's baking habits, it always smells incredible. His Water side comes out when he debates, because he tends to sway a little towards the philosophical. He's not too spiritual, though, though his wife is, and he's okay with that as long as he gets to see her happy.

TRIVIA/NOTES/ETC
He can understand enough Coatl to hold a - conversation based on feeling the vibrations. But because of that, the Coatls either have to shout or let him touch their neck, so it's something he only really does with his wife. But he listens to Coatl podcasts through headphones, which confuses some dragons, who just see him wearing headphones and go wait, the dude can't hear, what the hell? Part of the reason he's glad he found a job - where he did is because the area around the Spire where BMC is is the most humid area in the Expanse. He went to grad school further out in a liberal arts school in the Mesas, and moving from Water to the desert was a pretty horrible shift for him. He had to keep a humidifier in his dorm and eyedrops in his bag because his eyes kept drying out and making it hard to see his professors' lips, as well as just making him miserable. Despite being a carnivore himself, - Massimino really likes vegan and paleo baking. He mostly just thinks Paleo food tastes good, and he gets tired of buying eggs because he always manages to forget, so he uses substitutes from around the house instead. A few of the flight controllers are vegan, and they appreciate having a good dessert they can eat when he brings something to potlucks. Massimino himself just can't have too much of it without getting sick. |
