Biography
Kataba knew only one thing - that the visions were always her unfailing guide. She had seen the beastclans' attacks on the neighboring clans before they happened so many times she had lost count. Her reputation for giving those under her care the best protection and warning possible had earned her the respect of countless clans for saving their and their hatchlings' lives. So when she received a vision of a faraway clan, one in the Earthshaker's domain, she knew she had to hurry.
Her arrival in the dead of night came not a moment too soon, the clan's leader Conundrae having hardly welcomed her in the lair when the attack came. Together, Kataba and the clan fought back the small battalion, losing not a single dragon life in the process. As the last of the surviving attackers faded from sight beyond the rim of the Greatwyrm's Breach, the familiar vision trance overtook her. Conundrae ordered the temporarily paralyzed Imperial brought inside, her statuesque figure filling the corner of their great cavern near the fires.
Kataba grew accustomed to her new role as the clan's oracle, and the dragons of the clan and several neighboring clans looked to her for guidance and wisdom. She blessed unions between life mates, became a teacher for the younger dragons with magical gifts, and even helped in the construction of a new lair when the clan relocated, first to the Shrieking Wilds and later to the Leviathan Trench. Conundrae, however, never failed to bring a smile to her wizened face with her shy eagerness in leading the clan. A former outsider herself, Kataba had grown fond of the younger Aberration, even bordering on admiration for her willingness to learn and her fledgling ability to resolve conflicts between even the most headstrong dragons.
When Valdo appeared and temporarily joined the clan, Kataba knew there was something unusual about the younger Imperial. She was drawn to him, yet her visions remained unsettlingly silent on the role the newcomer was to play in the clan. Valdo’s musical and magical talents combined with his heart of gold to win over the whole clan (a bit too easily, she thought to herself), but the feeling of imminent changes on the near horizon being linked to his sudden appearance (and even more abrupt disappearance) just could not shake itself from thoughts. So she sat in meditation at the entrance to the clan’s lair overlooking the trench every night, her heart full but her mind preparing for....something.

Ye must stay firm, a boon to dragons free,
Sorneith itself in dire need of thee.
A leader, sage, and seeker in whose maw
The clan of desert finds its wisdom all
Sorneith itself in dire need of thee.
A leader, sage, and seeker in whose maw
The clan of desert finds its wisdom all
