Niyol

Niyol has been born into Clan Àidhear. The Wind Flight was all he had ever known, and it was all he ever wanted to know. He enjoyed the soft caress of the wind gently touching against his scales and rejoiced in the days where it howled with a vengeance. The Skydancer’s personality was tempered by the wind as he grew. Niyol became free-spirited, refusing to allow himself to be bound to anyone decision or thought. He allowed the wind to carry him where it would and--like the wind--didn’t mind changing his direction at the spur of a moment.

Étaín saw potential in the young Skydancer. At first, this baffled Niyol. He didn’t think he had what it took to become an ambassador for the Flight. Étaín explained that his free-thinking allowed Niyol to not be bound to convention. When others were willing to do the same thing over and over again, Niyol would take it upon himself to try something new. If it did not work out, he would try something else. His new ideas and thoughts brought about clever decisions for the clan that others had not been able to fathom. Niyol took what Étaín taught him, and decided to see it as a strength. He didn’t need to be the fastest, strongest, or smartest. He just needed to think differently.

Niyol accepted the honor as the Wind Ambassador. Despite his easy going ways, or perhaps because of them, he was able to excel in his training. He enjoyed getting to know the other dragons going through the same training, and also enjoyed learning about the different flights. Whatever he learned, his heart remained true to the Wind, and he intends to do the Wind proud.
