B I O G R A P H Y
Born into a welcoming and loving Arcane clan, the young bogsneak was one of three siblings, both of his sisters quickly finding their way far from their birthplace and their parents. But their brother was different-- he found interest in their founders, the pair of tundra very kind and friendly, but never found his purpose in life until he met her. A traveller passed through often, a blue pearlcatcher from another nearby clan; Jude was her name, and she was welcomed like an old friend, to the bogsneak's curiosity. He tailed her around shyly at first, before finally being noticed and scooped up affectionately. His parents encouraged the curiosity and allowed him to travel briefly with the pearlcatcher in order to meet their sister clan. He soon learned of the Safe Haven and met their fearless leader, a proud wildclaw named Ibis, who welcomed the hatchling to her humble home. It was only then, however, that he found the soul whom would change his fate forever-- a beautiful imperial, the clan's shaman, who went by the name Viska.
He was enamored by the mysterious lightning dragon almost immediately, suddenly following the much larger female everywhere she went. The adults found this behaviour cute, even endearing, but Viska herself was not pleased in the slightest. She initially told the child to shoo, but soon progressed to loud hissing and flaring her wings in attempt to frighten him off-- however none of this changed his opinion, and the child could not get the pretty imperial out of his mind when he went back home to his Arcane family. In time, the child grew up big and strong, but his personality remained light hearted and curious, even friendly to a stubborn degree, and he earned the silly nickname Fluffy. Once an adult, the bogsneak began making regular trips to the Safe Haven clan, winning over Jude and Ibis without much effort-- though Viska still remained the apple of his eye. Fluffy would always excuse himself politely to the leaders of the clan before tracking down the reclusive imperial and continue spending his time trying to gain her trust and friendship. Viska reacted the same every time, but was not as aggressive as she had been when he was a mere pup. Soon she tolerated his presence...but nothing more.
Fluffy was undeterred, though, and was never anything less than estatic when near her; he went out of his way to do what he could to make her smile, bringing her trinckets and sweet treats from his home clan. None of this got through to the imperial, but he was equally as stubborn. Both clans watched for weeks and months as the love sick bogsneak continually tried to woo their shaman, but it seemed hopeless. The only good sign was that she never told him to actually leave; maybe there was feeling within the old dragon's heart after all. It came to a head one say when Fluffy made a mistake; upon trying to show off a new battle move, he hd his tongue sticking out without realising, and embarrased himself in front of his crush. Viska actually cracked a smile and chuckled, only adding salt to the wound. Shamed, he left early that day and went back to his birth clan while unable to look anyone in the eye. He was absolutely certain that Viska would never consider him for a potential mate after that stunt. Fluffy remained depressed all night, until the next day.
The next morning, Fluffy left his nest only to be greeted by the large female imperial. He stuttered in shock; Viska had never so much as given him the time of day, let alone visited him. Was she here for another dragon? Was something wrong? Questions and anxiety quickly swirled in the bogsneak's mind, but the lightning drgon approached him and pulled him aside. The seriousness to her face still worried him, but Fluffy was ready to listen intently-- instead Viska stared deep into his violet eyes before opening her mouth and poking her tongue out, holding it in the air a few seconds, before closing her jaws and simply continuing to stare expectantly at him. Fluffy was in shock for a moment before he burst out laughing. His love did care! She came all that way just to make him feel better! Fluffy quickly embraced her in a tight embrace before pulling back and beaming up at the other, to which the imperial quickly blushed from the contact before giving him a brisk hug. Unable to meet his eye, Viska quickly muttered about getting back home, but did not leave until he promised to visit her regularly again. Fluffy agreed to the 'conditions' and watched the love of his life leave, a stupidly happy grin on his face.
In the coming weeks, the pair officially became exclusive mates as Viska finally allowed herself to admit and show her love for the dorky bogsneak. Fluffy was the only one allowed to go and come in her workshop and den as he pleased, though the pair continued living in different clans and kept just enough space for either of them to not feel suffocated. For an amount of time, things were very good, and the pair had a great routine going. Fluffy was a regular around the clan and made many friends and played with the hatchlings, while he and Viska also raised their own eggs every once in a rare while. The bogsneak also made a point of getting to know his mate's fatherless son from before him, Finger-painting, though the eccentric imperial was hard to get to know for multiple reasons. Fluffy still tried his best and made sure to form a good relationship with the clan calligrapher. Life was good and he couldn't be happier. ...However, things were not to last. Without warning or reason, the young arcane dragon started having devere lapse in memory, even forgetting other dragon's faces altogether, or not making his daily trek to the Safe Haven due to forgetting it existed. Viska immediately became concerned and started showing up to his birth clan in order to demand what was wrong, but the sight she was met with was more disturbing than she anticipated.
At first, Fluffy just could not remember large chunks of his past, but soon he began falling ill, too. He would pass out in the open and have to have their healers called in order to discover what was wrong. When Viska first saw her mate in this state, she was devastated, but the worst part was how he did not even remember her upon coming back to consciousness. Viska tried to bring her love back to her, but there was nothing that could be done until clarity flickered back into his eyes, seemingly without a trigger, and he was back to his old self again. But this was far from the end of the illness and soon it was clear that the Arcane clan could not do anything to prevent the progression of his disease. Viska demanded he be permanently moved to the Safe Haven where she could watch over him, along with their own healers, to which the leaders of both clans agreed. The imperial now spends her days fretting worryingly over her mate and trying to find a way to save him. It is no secret that the bogsneak's days are limited, but Viska refuses to give up. Fluffy grows weaker with every day that passes, and his memories become further away every time he passes out, but during the times he can remember his mate, there is no purer emotion than the look of love in his eyes.
