Ever since Hex was a young hatchling, alchemy has always been a interest in his life, and as he grew, that interest only got stronger. He loves the mystery of throwing random things into the brew and seeing what it produces. Though, he has a bad habit of stealing, or "borrowing" items to toss into his cauldron from various clan members, much to their displeasure.

When he first came to the clan, Hex immediately took a liking to Ran and the two have formed a strong bond with each other over the years. Hex finds delight in assisting the other dragon pull pranks on the other clan members and the two will laugh about it together afterwards. The other members of the clan see the two as partners in crime more than anything, and they know trouble is sure to come soon when Hex and Ran are huddled together whispering and grinning madly at each other.

Hex is also known for having a love for the spirit world, and he can often be found harassing Lottie for any information she has on the afterlife, even though she claims to know nothing about it, and her abilities lie in telling the future. Sometimes he hangs around Henry because he believes if there's one dragon in the clan to be a magnet for ghosts, it would be their prophet considering all the corpses and bones he collects.

Together with Ran and himself, they form what the clan has dubbed 'The Nightmare Duo' and are notorious for their pranking habits and cause of general mayhem amongst the Starlit Hearth.
