Starlight looks uncannily similar to a previous clan member, also named Starlight.

The previous Starlight came to the original clan from the Shrieking Wilds as a hatchling. Starlight learned to become a powerful mage, and she became Pyrrhos's mate. When the tyrant Ishild rose to power, Starlight betrayed the clan, creating spells to test clan-members' loyalty to Ishild and to track down anyone who escaped Ishild's merciless purges. After the clan overthrew Ishild, Starlight disappeared.

This Starlight, who is most certainly not the same dragon, was a traveling magician. She claims she never used real magic in her performances, because what is the fun of a magician whose tricks can actually be explained with magic? But now, she seeks to train in real magic. She's was remarkably fast learner. Some may think she was already a powerful mage.

Currently, Starlight teaches basic magic and magic combat. She is learning Nature elemental spells, and rumor has it she is developing mind control spells in secret.

Starlight's familiar, Jupiter, has changed hands many times. Not everyone is certain this rabbit isn't controlling people's minds. Perhaps that is why Starlight's sleight of hand and illusionry is so good.
