Clan Leader
Born during the BeastClan Era, Modern calendar year 1,119
SeaWave was barely six years old when the BeastClans attacked. She, among a few other hatchlings, were led by the survivors of the attack. But the Clan was small after that, and rocked from the deaths of so many Clantmates, including their Founders and their son.
By the time SeaWave became an adult, SeaRaven was the last living adult to lead them. SeaWave stepped up, helping him as best as she could. For a long time it was just them, PondShine, DeepBlue, CrashingWaves, and SeaRaven's son SeaStalker. New dragons slowly began to join their Clan, and things seemed to be looking up. That is, until, the BeastClans struck again, wary of the Clan's growth.
"SeaRaven!" SeaWave cried out, staring in horror as the frothing water turned crimson, the sea foam stained bright red as the Maren party dragged their oldest Clanmate below the water's surface. The waves pushed the crimson water to their feet, but they could not escape it - Serthis swarmed the shore, hissing and threatening them with spears and other weapons.
"Father!" SeaStalker's cry followed SeaWave's, trudging through the water as he desperately tried to follow his father. Shark swept out his tail, whipping a Maren across the face before it could reach SeaStalker. His tail then curled around the young Mirror's chest, pulling him back to the safety of the group.
"They're not letting us go..." Gwendolen whimpered, lowering her belly into the red-stained waves. PondShine, ever sturdy, pressed her bulk up against their fearful friend.
"We have to stay together, and hold out!" SeaWave shouted over the taunts of their enemies, swallowing her grief for SeaRaven - there was no saving the old Mirror. They had to save themselves now - it's what he would have wanted them to do.
"SeaWave is right!" CrashingWaves added, his strong voice carrying over the noise around them. He raised his crest of feathers, looking over them proudly. He always managed to look so tall, even when compared to the Ridgeback, Shark. "If we break apart, they'll pick us off!"
DeepBlue, the only Guardian among them, regarded the Wildclaw with a weary eye. "We're cornered, most of us aren't proper warriors... we're trapped."
"Don't lose hope." PlagueStrategist hissed, her red eyes matching the water around them. She was a Mirror too, just like SeaWave, Gwendolen, and SeaStalker. But she was the only one naturally from Plague, and her warrior's side was coming to light as she faced them all. "We need to coordinate our attacks, and work together." She looked to their two largest dragons, DeepBlue and Shark. "You two are our power and eyes. Cover us, and warn us of attacks we cannot see." She then turned to PondShine. "You are a Bogsneak - do what you do best, and surprise the enemy whenever you can." She looked to CrashingWaves and SeaWave. "You two will help me on the front lines, facing the enemy head-on. We are the only ones with full and proper training." She looked then to Gwendolen and SeaStalker. "You two are our most magically-inclined - do what you can."
The group was silent for a moment, processing what they were about to do. Then PlagueStrategist let out a fearsome hiss, rushing through the shallows towards the Serthis. CrashingWaves and SeaWave followed, equally as fierce. Some of the Serthis seemed shocked by the sudden ferocity of their cornered prey, and a sweep of water powered by DeepBlue's massive tail helped distract them enough for the three fighters to break their ranks.
SeaWave had never fought in such a battle before - training usually, and small skirmishes at most. But this many Serthis warriors was something she had only imagined in her nightmares. Without proper armour, she had to be cautious.
"SeaWave, behind!" Shark's voice boomed, and SeaWave turned in time to see a Serthis about to slash her wings with a sword. She ducked, tucking her wings with her, and a moment later a jet of high-pressure water from the ocean sent the Serthis sprawling. SeaWave turned to give Gwendolen a quick, appreciate nod. She then continued into battle, unable to risk more than a moment's distraction.
PondShine had done as instructed, sneaking into the undergrowth and launching out at Serthis who came too close. DeepBlue helped shield Gwendolen and SeaStalker from Maren, while the two magic-casters did their best to keep the Maren back. Shark was wading out of the water, using his massive size to his advantage as he swiped at the enemy and used his long tail to cover for Crashing Waves. PlagueStrategist was showing off her skill in this battle, barely sustaining a scratch as she dodged and weaved, snapped and swiped. She was a whole army on her own.
SeaWave was starting to lose her strength, yet the enemy had not relented. She had just sent a young Serthis slinking off, ready to face a new opponent, when a screech split the air. She dared to look for the source, and found SeaStalker had been snatched in a moment when DeepBlue was distracted. SeaStalker was reacting like a God, causing Maren blood to fly. But he was still on the losing side, being dragged under.
"DeepBlue!" SeaWave called, rushing for the water. "Help him!"
DeepBlue, busy trying to keep some Maren off of Gwendolen, turned with a horrified eye. CrashingWaves then rushed into the water, bleeding from multiple wounds as he headed for Gwendolen. "Go!" He shouted to DeepBlue. "I will help her!"
DeepBlue didn't hesitate, bounding into the water. SeaWave followed, reaching her side. SeaStalker was gone from sight, but there was fresh blood where he'd been dragged. Tidelord, please... don't let him die too!
Suddenly, the water swelled. It nearly rose above SeaWave's head, suddenly frigid when just seconds ago it had been warm. She and DeepBlue paused, halted by the swell. There was a moment of quiet in the water, and SeaWave thought she could see the shadows of the Maren frozen in place...
Water then rushed, strong enough to make DeepBlue lose her balance. SeaWave was swept back to shore, along with CrashingWaves and Gwendolen. The fighting paused, even the Serthis stopping to stare. There was then a frenzy in the water, and the calls of the Maren were loud enough to reach SeaWave's ears. Something was attacking them... had SeaStalker turned the tides?
Water then rushed from the sea, snaking up the shore faster than a lightning strike. The streams avoided the dragons, but struck the Serthis. Some were merely sent flying away to retreat, but some were cut open from the power of the water...
The Serthis retreated, panic clear in their eyes. There was no sign of the Maren, leaving the group of dragons to stare at the water. DeepBlue was the only one still in the sea, and after a moment she went stiff, staring into the waves. "Something's moving!"
The group came back to the shore, SeaWave and CrashingWaves stepping into the shallows. They eventually saw a wave swell up, carrying something in it. It gently touched the shore, and as the water retreated it revealed SeaStalker. He was bleeding from his face and haunches, but he was alive.
"SeaStalker!" SeaWave rushed over first, crouching over her friend. "Are you okay? How did you do that?"
SeaStalker lifted his head weakly, shaking slightly as he did. One of his eyes was closed tight shut. "It... wasn't me..."
"Someone's coming up." DeepBlue spoke then, sounding defensive. SeaWave rose back to her feet, turning to watch. A dragon rose to the surface. A Mirror...
"Was that you?" CrashingWaves asked, stepping forward to meet the stranger. "Thank you."
The dragon nodded, seeming oddly awkward despite the power he clearly had. He looked around, eyes turning scrutinizing. "Is this... the Clan of the Water Cobra?"
"Yes." CrashingWaves replied, DeepBlue stepping closer. "What's left of it, anyway..."
The stranger looked around, a sadness in his eyes. Past the shore was the remains of their camp, tattered and destroyed. "I thought... it was bigger."
"Who are you?" CrashingWaves asked, sounding both curious and cautious. "You sound like you know of us, but we're not exactly famous. We're just a small Clan."
"You weren't always though, were you?" The stranger asked, then continued before anyone could answer. "My name is OceanCurrent. I've... I've come home."
