There are many things to be said of the gods. To priests, they are omniscient; To Seers, guides. To struggling clans they are cruel winters, bountiful harvests, weathered graveyards and hopeful hatching seasons. To the agnostic they are distant, uncaring and estranged, and to the cursed they are demons in the skins of the divine. Most believe divinity gave life to dragons, but to quiet heretics the gods are the spawn of beasts.

Woe betide the atheist that disrespects the wrong god; retribution for mockery is swift, harsh and cruel. Reclaimed by the Warden he spurned, Beckford wanders endlessly, doomed to the ice he tried so hard to leave behind.
