When she was just a hatchling, alone on the shores of the rising tide, this small pearly fae dragon met a creature even smaller than herself alone among the dunes. The creature seemed to be made of purest light. As she approached, the sprite flew up, gazing at her from a safe distance. Then the small creature smiled and dove for the fae dragon, hugging her close. For a long time, Candescent was the only family the small fae had ever known. Having had no clan of her own, she vowed to find other forgotten dragons, such as herself, and give them a place and a family with which to belong. Seraphina is the spiritual leader of the clan. She is responsible for caring for the new members of the clan, ensuring that they are well settled in and accepted by the rest of the dragons. Though small in stature, Seraphina's gentle ways have made her a respected (albeit soft) voice when deciding on what is best for the lair as a whole.

Though she is of the water clan, due to her grace and elegance, she is often referred to as the "Daughter of the Light".
